Yep. We should’ve started Mason 2 weeks ago.

I ate my crow yesterday. It was tasty.

Hindsight, however, is usually 20/20...
One played well for a game, one has steadily declined. No need to eat crow because it could just as easily not happened or ever replicate.

I look forward to seeing what happens against Seattle.

I never thought he said anything racial. That was just Myles trying to save face after displaying bad behavior.

I always thought he made **** up.
You dont know what a man has in his soul...

I never really knew anything about him or hear Mason express himself....ever, which is crazy considering how log his has been with the franchise so long...

This, but still want Red nose to finish out these last two games, then make my decision in a more decisive thought process.

Rudolf could be that gem, behind the scene that worked his *** off to get better.

DK Daily Shot Steelers had a great segment on Rudolf’s Developement while he was sitting these last 2.5 years.

I’m glad for Mason, the better he plays the better the team is. Mason would NOT have done this 2.5 years ago. He made good use of his bench time, a rare quality in sub-level players.

Considering what he went through with the helmet and the Miles Garret lying about the racial thing on th e field, MASON is solid character, which never was a dispute.

I hope MASON keeps getting the opportunity to play and we see continual Developement. It will do good for Kenny Pickett to sit the rest of the year.

REGARDLESS, Mitch needs jettisoned

Berm said that Myles lied about the racial slur when it happened and I still stand by that.

We, as black men, hear those comments and generally we stand together. I was in countless fights in the 90s over BS like that.

So, why was Myles the only one who reacted like he did??? I don't care what team a player is on - a racial slur week get dealt with by anyone who was offended.

Phuck Myles.

There is no doubt Mason played well, but a lot goes into it. I see things like Mason stood in the pocket, the ball was on time, etc etc.....All of this is true, but Mason was not under the instant / constant pressure in this game as our other QBs have faced. Along those lines just remember Pickett and crew put up 400 on these Bengals. Mason also missed 3x on what is supposed to be his specialty the deep balls, but he did connect on 2. Most importantly he didnt turn the ball over and the defense did their part today. Mason did well today just need to keep it in perspective that the Bengals defense is poor and we actually put up more yrds last game just did not finish off drives. Pickett only threw for 12 yrds less and the team avg about half yard less per play. Bottom line is if you look at the stats for the 2 Bengals games they are very similar. If Pickett is not 100% but still able to play I would start Mason and have a short leash. If Pickett is 100% and ready to go then I would start him, but he would also be on a short leash.

Hey, Rudolph did great today, but lets take it with a grain of salt too… He played vs a defense that is abysmal at pass D and who just lost its lynchpin defensive tackle, and whose star DE got injured early in the game.
They had no Pass rush and they really haven’t had any good safety play all year long…

This is a worse version of the same D that we shredded for 400 yards four weeks ago..

Im certainly not saying that you are wrong, but if this comes down to facing a team with a better pass rush, I’m not sold you want to get Mason killed back there… I still think that our Oline is very poor at passblocking because of the scheme, and while Mason is trying to play tough to save his career, it’s going to lead to bad things because he has the mobility of peyton manning…

There aren’t realistic chances at the playoffs at this moment, so its fine to close out the season with him. But I would not sign the guy to a starter deal with our oline like this… He probably gets murdered in Baltimore if they are playing for anything at all…

I'm happy for Mason. A career game for him, but it's one game. Do it again next week on the road. I'd personally let him start again, but they need to let Kenny play if he's good to go.

This team isn't going anyplace this year and they need those last two games for evaluation going into the offseason.

Mason definitely has the best deep ball on the team. It's been a long time since I've seen multiple deep passes on target.

I'd figure they sign a veteran qb in the offseason, let Mitch go and have Kenny,Mason and new guy battle it out for the starting qb role in camp.

That’s why you continue lining Mason up under center. Get the defense to commit to the run then you can start passing.

I liked Rudolph’s passing ability yesterday.

His own teammates would have kicked his *** and he would have been released.

Myles is a turd for doing that. It's dishonest, dishonorable and shows his character as a man.

It’s funny how they say Tomlin always has the team in it until the end. First of all there are seven playoff spots out of sixteen AFC teams. Damn near half the teams qualify now. Plus look how many teams are still in the hunt at this stage of the season. All you have to do is play 500 or a bit over it. It’s not too much of an accomplishment to be in the hunt about now.
They will never win any championships with Tomlin ever again. He needs to move on as well as the organization.

The ”hunt” bodes well for the TV contracts as it keeps viewer’s attention just a tad longer for TV f ratings.

That’s the NFL strategy, nothing to do with quality of play.

It's really a Mute point with coach T at the helm. I can see it now. Mason plays the last two games we win both by wide margins with Mason putting up good numbers. we sneak into the playoffs only to see the great and wise Tomlin start KP and again we get blown out of the first game. MT signs another three year contract and gets coach of the year for making the playoffs after losing three in a row to ****** teams.
We end up drafting 24th and taking a kicker so Boz has some competition. All will be good in steel town.

So one thing is clearly evident to me after watching some of the game last night.

Mason ****ing Rudolph is clearly the better QB of the three, and probably has been most of the year, and probably would have them in a solid playoff spot right now if coach Super Shades would have checked his pride at the door and put him in one of the 3 games they just lost. As soon as I seen Mason dropping back, going through his progressions and finding the open receiver that is all I needed to see. Kenny never does that, and Mitch does that and then throws the ball right into triple coverage.

But hey, we are supposed to be excited for next year!

Oh and next year we are REALLY gonna get'm!

Fraaaaaaaap.
When we face someone like the Ravens and they take away Pickens and the deep ball(Mason's only strength) and the line doesn't block as well you will remember quickly who Mason is...LOL...yesterday was fun and that's it. Nothing against they guy, but he is what he is.

And let me just add before I get flamed by someone that thinks I'm dogging Mason that we all know (well almost all) that none of the 3 QBs on this team are franchise material, and one who will go unnamed is not even worthy of being on an NFL team. If you notice yesterday there weren't any throws to the tight end(well 1 to Washington)...the one drag route to DJ was way off. No crossers no curls...nothing Mason is not good at.

I wanted Aaron Rodgers when he was available and there was someone else here who argued against me for Mitch....(how did that work out?)
Another, (one of the cap gurus on here) told me Rodgers was beyond the Steelers financial reach, and I don't question them, but I would have done anything I had to to bring him in. We would be a serious contender with Rodgers right now. We are wasting TJ and the defense, and the idea that we could find another franchise guy right after Ben was idiotic just from a probability perspective. Tomlin must be suffering from Dunning-Krueger if he thought that ...and if he didn't think that then he thought we could "get by" till we find that guy which is equally idiotic when Rodgers was available.

"Don't forget the tiny kick returner"-----Mike Tomlin Football 101

Rudolph was 15/25 for 95 yards without the two big completions to Pickens, so I don't want to overstate his game. However, I mentioned yesterday with competent QB play, this offense is much better and that's what we saw yesterday. Those two big plays happened because 1. Mason could actually connect on a slant, something Pickett really struggles with and 2. Mason actually took deep shots to his receivers allowing Pickens to make a play. He probably should've had another completion if not for DPI by Mike Hilton that wasn't called and had DJ wide open for a TD where he burnt Hilton but overthrew it.

With that said, this game is maybe 17-11 or 20-11 with Pickett yesterday because he hasn't made those plays.
I have been saying all season Pickens is always open and head and shoulders better than any receiver on our team. And it should just be a forgone conclusion that we should be getting him 8+ targets a game. So the question is why haven’t the other two quarterbacks been able to get George the football?

You should eat a ******* MILE of crow you dipshit.

Pickens target share wasn't any different than it was the rest of the season. He was averaging about 3.7 receptions per game on 6.5 targets per game. He was right at those numbers on Saturday with 4 receptions on 6 targets. The difference was where they targeted him.

Pickett has been terrible on slants this season as has Mitch. Missed opportunities for RAC. They also don't throw deep enough. There were two deep balls, one for a TD, that were huge. He just complained the other week about the types of routes he was running and not being able to produce.

The well-founded criticism of Rudolph in 2019 was his repeated reliance on short throws. He would go an entire game without putting the ball more than 10 yards downfield.

That has changed. He was really good last night - REALLY good. He hit receivers in stride and on time. He was sacked just once. When he threw to Warren, that was only after he made the progressions - looking deep, middle, covered so look next, covered and only THEN then find Warren for 7 yards instead of spinning left into a sack. Compare to Kenny, stare at one guy, if not open, wait, see if he gets open, if not, spin left into sack.

I have been a Kenny Backer but if the Steelers are serious about competing for a playoff spot, they need to start Rudolph the next two games.
This^^^^^^100 %

I think Rudolph should have gone in when KP was injured. Now is the reason inept Trubisky has been ahead of MR because of Tomlin, Art II, or both, due to the wasted $$ being spent on Trubisky?

That is his MO. Talking down to posters, then when I call him on it.. it is poor Ford. Ford deserves everything he gets and then some.
😂 this aged well you no knowledge biggest ******* joke this board has EVER seen. No one respects your opinion BECAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS WRONG!

They could turn back to Rudolph if they saw something that dictated moving back. Just like teams had an opportunity to sign him to a contract to compete for a start or a backup job but didn't.

They all didn't turn to Rudolph because they don't have faith in Rudolph.

They know he isn't the guy. I know he isn't the guy. Tomlin is allllll about squeezing victories out if he felt Rudolph could accomplish that he would be starting against the Bungles.

What you did is show the rotation of QBs in a broken scheme. Continuous rotating solves absolutely nothing. Unless the notion is to squeeze out losses over victories.

It doesn't say Kenny is playing well he isn't. That was a bad performance Sunday.

But there isn't a QB backing up the Steelers that is an answer. More than what I think the NFL thinks it as nobody outside of the Steelers brought Rudy back.

Those guys know football better than that guy that trots around Steelers Nation claiming he knows more than me, you, and Joe Blow.

1. Move Jones to LT and have Chuks and Moore fight it for RT.
2. Start Jaylen Warren.
3. Target Pickend 8+ times a game.
4. Last but not least start Rudolph. We know what Mitch is and we have all seen enough of Pickett to see where that train is heading. Give Mason a try. If he can’t muster more than 93 yards vs the Browns or 170 yards and 0.6 touchdowns a game so be it. But right now the quarterback is holding us back.

Rudolph the red nosed third stringer he'll go down in FFL HOF historyyyyy.
😂 🤡
The never let poor Rudolph play in any Steelers gamesssss. Then one foggy free agency no teams came to sayyyyy. Rudy with your game so tight come compete for our QB starting position a'ght?
🤡
Everyone knows how didn't think your boy didn't get a fair shake, don't pretend innocence now after a **** load of Rudolph posts exists.

Nobody needs to hunt down your crap patch, it has been seen enough.

😂 🤡

Yeah it is about time Rudy the red nosed third stringer got a fair shot. Enough already.

To overcome immobility you have to be able to have a quick release, squeeze it accurately in between tight windows, and be able to feel the pressure in the pocket while maneuvering to avoid incoming traffic.

Meatloaf says 0 out of 3 is ba a a add.

😂 this is the BEST! This THIS is why we all laugh at you. You know NOTHING about football. Nothing. 🤡.

Was this release quick, accurate and between a tight window you *** 🤡?

Rudy made Tomlin decision making more of a question mark. He had something against Mason for all the years in Pittsburgh. Tomlin post-game saying Mason being Mason just another example of Tomlin lack of acknowledging he desire to not admit when he has made mistakes.
