DENVER (KDVR) — One person has been arrested in connection to the reported vandalism cases at a Loveland Tesla dealership.

On Monday just before midnight, the Loveland Police Department arrested 40-year-old Lucy Grace Nelson, whose alias includes Justin Thomas Nelson.

Colorado woman, dog presumed dead after going missing in Montana
Officers obtained probable cause after, what they called, an extensive investigation that began on Jan. 29 and connected Nelson to the vandalism.


Loveland police originally reported on the case on Feb. 7 when officers responded to a reported arson attempt. When they arrived, they found various vehicles were “vandalized with graffiti, some of which were offensive and hateful in nature.” The department said incendiary devices were also recovered at the scene.

“I know that there’s been some rumors that it was just fireworks and bottle rockets and that is not the case. That is not true. The devices that were discovered had potential for serious damage,” Chris Padgett, spokesperson for the Loveland Police Department, told FOX31’s Rachel Saurer.

The police department said that was the third time they had received a similar report from the Tesla dealership.

On Monday, police said Nelson returned to the Tesla dealership and was allegedly in possession of additional incendiary devices and “materials attributed to vandalism.”

Nelson was taken into custody and booked into the Larimer County Jail on the following charges:

  • Explosives or incendiary devices used during a felony
  • Criminal mischief $2,000<$5,000 business
  • Criminal attempt to commit a Class 3 felony
Loveland police said they worked closely with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Denver Field Division.

“We have to think bigger than just property damage and a business,” Padgett told Saurer. “We have to think about employees, we have to think about residents who live in the area.”

Anyone who has additional information on the incident or Nelson is asked to call the Loveland police tipline at 970-962-2032 or the Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868.

Nelson is scheduled in court on March 7 at 8:30 a.m.

Went to get gas today. Start to pump and I look over and there is this younger girl. She has ear extender things on (i assume) that makes her look like an elf.

Just gave it a look and was like, yup, ICS that’s what you see.
