i'd take Morgan Fairchild, but bask in her glory of years ago... much like we're forced to do in our current state of the SteelersI’d take Morgan Freeman at this point.
I’d take the real Omar Epps at this point.I’d take Morgan Freeman at this point.

hell, Ray Epps is a better leader.I’d take the real Omar Epps at this point.
We don't want a defensive guy...Love Bill, but the game has changed. If the job becomes available, does it lure Cowher out of retirement?
I wanted Joe Brady, but I'm going to pray every night we hire Mike McCarthy instead just so I can post about DEI every day for you...excuse me... "Good ol boy network"
I’d take the real Omar Epps at this point.
I don’t think trading him is an option anymore. There’s people here that said he was a “premier” coach and any team would want him. I doubt that ever was true but if he had value it was 5+ years ago.If he does leave, get traded, retires, etc., who do you want?
Note - This is not a "You have no good candidates, so shut up about him leaving" thread. It's an honest question.
If the job becomes available, does it lure Cowher out of retirement?
I will say Hell no. Another old, past his days HC isn't the answer. If the job becomes available, does it lure Cowher out of retirement?
I’ll apply for the “Water Boy” position as long as I get the “girlfriend” in the end…………………s
Did you use " " on girlfriend, cause you really want to get a dude?

Maybe 10 years ago, but today……… I highly doubt it. He knows the grind and at this stage in his life…. He is happy where he is at.

THAT. They wanted to go younger. The first time they heard his Tomlinisms, they were likely as captivated as the average fan was. Lots of guys get their first big chance because they ace the interview. Folks who love throwing that out there say a lot more about themselves, frankly. It's tired already.I want to go on record as saying that I am convinced that Tomlin was not a DEI hire. He may have been a Rooney Rule interview, but set the room on fire, by all accounts. First time I heard him speak I was captivated and excited.
He was not a DEI hire.

Hell I take board member Omar10213245 at this point.
I'm one who is saying he was a DEI hire and I pointed out the perceived benefits of hiring him. And, he wasn't an awful hire. But they could have done better.THAT. They wanted to go younger. I'd take him just to rebuild the culture. You can damn well believe his teams would be physical and disciplined.
I don't think he'd have any interest whatsoever , but if he did, I think it would be Pittsburgh or nothing.
You forgot Russ Grimm and the Steelers absolutely made the correct call over him.I'm one who is saying he was a DEI hire and I pointed out the perceived benefits of hiring him. And, he wasn't an awful hire. But they could have done better.
If you recall, the coaching choices were:
Tomlin checked the black box, Rivera checked the hispanic box and Wiz was the white dude. Thus, the Rooney Rule specs were met. Rivera and Wiz went on to become head coaches, so its not like Tomlin was head and shoulders above the other two. Yet, at the time it was almost a given that Wiz would be ruled out due to the Rooney Rule, and despite being a part of the Cowher coaching tree, was a token interview.
- Mike Tomlin
- Ron Rivera
- Ken Whisenhunt

Good grief, man!Past behavior is the best indicator of future performance.
I believe you're correct, DEI got him the interview, his ability to talk and talk and talk got him the job.I want to go on record as saying that I am convinced that Tomlin was not a DEI hire.
