Hes going to be top five minimum. You routinely see lesser QBs make bigger dollars then true franchise guys. Hes north of 30 million for sure. Im assuming he will be highest paid at position once inflation is included.
No, just no, thirty is absurd. He may get a price north of twenty (APY.) It’s just not likely to be here. If he wants to take a hometown discount at around that value with a healthy guarantee, great. If not, there are always other suitors. Resetting markets with inconsistent seasons isn’t a thing. Good front offices have been trying to get away from the average reset concept for quite awhile. Just because a top, top tier player pushes the ceiling, it doesn’t mean it trickles down.
In my opinion, as of right now, Junior doesn’t have phenomenal. He’s a solid CB, definitely top fifteen. He’s probably top ten if you ask the right panel of experts. You have to have some really phenomenal stuff to be inconsistent and get rewarded. I see good and inconsistent, not phenomenal. This year will be telling. The going rate for solid is around twenty. Truly life changing money, when you factor in the cost of living in Pittsburgh and the surrounding counties, it’s a pretty solid deal.
On another note, that Ramsey contract is going to really look like an albatross when they attempt to negotiate with Junior. Khan has to operate from the stance that it can’t be used to support a higher value due to it being an outlier. Seeing as the left field of contract negotiation topics is here, I’ll offer my thoughts. If they want to trade Ramsey, it is going to require a creative solution. He needs to play well. Then, they need a trade partner for the back half of 2026, early part of 2027. There would probably need to be a beneficial pre-negotiated restructure before any trade. Compensation would probably be Ramsey and a mid rounder for a higher mid rounder.
