Terrible tragedy.... and sorry Spike, this is a gun control issue along with the 82,033 gun deaths since Sandy Hook. Call it what you want....but this should not be the norm. In the U.S. it is the norm, but it shouldn't be and doesn't have to be.

Stricter gun control laws which make it harder to purchase weapons. That, and more tranparency & veracity of the background check process. That would be a start. Wonder if this psycho would have carried out his attack armed with a hammer or knife... if both of those people would be dead right now. Maybe, maybe not. Gun murders in the US are absolutely out of control. I cannot comprehend why people don't see this by now...what more needs to happen? How many more attacks on school children and movie theaters? How many more people need to mowed down in cold blood? This lunatic was a big fan of the mass murderers of columbine and virginia tech. An increasing number of people are losing their minds and we're arming them to the teeth with readily-available weapons of all kinds. Makes no sense to me.

Radio report did say that they had police escort him from the building when they fired him so apparently they knew he had issues.

Unfreaking real. What the hell is wrong with people?

I grew up in Roanoke and lived on that lake for so many years (mainly when I was a regular on this board) and what happened today is unimaginable. Just goes to show that if it can happen there it can happen anywhere. Another horrific example of our society going to ****. And to friggin post the video of them getting killed is @#$%ing sick.
