You Neo-Socialist types know instinctively that an armed population cant be forced out of freedom and into collective, centrally planned living. You also know that you have to lie about a situation to make it sound worse than it is so you lump all "gun deaths" together and don't differentiate between suicides, murders, accidents and cases where guns are used in self defense.

Terrible tragedy.... and sorry Spike, this is a gun control issue along with the 82,033 gun deaths since Sandy Hook. Call it what you want....but this should not be the norm. In the U.S. it is the norm, but it shouldn't be and doesn't have to be.

If you're gonna be honest with yourself, and if everybody looking at this wants to be honest with themselves, what happened here is not really that complicated. The people are. This particular guy. It is a perfect example of what happens every day because of employment requirements that have nothing to do with competence or talent, merit, success building on success. The difference is, most people don't die. People don't die most of the time, thank goodness.

Now, according to the UK Mirror, we get more journalism/truth about what happens in this country than we do in our own media.

And I dare say... I'm speculating, but reading between the lines, people that work with the guy knew it. Nothing they could do about it. Any attempt to help him by suggesting that he seek some kind of therapy or help for mental disease, can you imagine what he would have done with that?

He'd have run off and talked about discrimination, bias, and whatever. So everybody's hands were tied, again because of the stigma and because of the victim stats and because of the federal government's power over these properties by virtue of their being regulated. But he saw the media raising hell and the Confederate flag being pulled down, so he wants in on some of that action. They got him all revved up and ready to go.

82000 gun deaths since Sandy Hook? Does that count people being killed because they broke into other people's homes? Does it count when cops shoot an armed suspect? Guns deaths aren't anywhere near the norm. 18 times as many people die from tobacco related deaths than guns. Hell 3 times as many people die from microbial agents than from guns.

The fact is that very few people percentage wise die from guns. It's really miniscule. Also those stats count every single gun death which includes good guys using guns. The main issue here is mental health NOT gun control.

The other thing is, that no one has mentioned as far as I know, is that the shooting occurred about 40 miles from the station and he didn't work there any more. Therefore he would have had to be been staking out the TV station and followed the news crew to where they went because he wouldn't have known ahead of time where they would be.
