do the same stupid things year in and year out expecting a different outcome isn't sissy it is stupid...

When I first started reading this thread I though Raven trolls started a thread on our board....Ha!

You fight until the last breath. You DO NOT start talking defeat when victory is still at hand. You know what, I'll let the General explain...

Oh yeh, I vote we just forget about going to that shithole by the lake next week and call an end to this continued torture for the year. Heap all the luck ya want onto the situation and I still won't look forward to another inevitable "one and done" postseason.

I'll take the loss, the upgrade in draft pick and pray we use it to upgrade the quality of DB's we have to put on the field. An *** whoppin' in StainLand next week would really sour my outlook on this team.

I blame Bruce Arians.

You are employing sarcasm, obviously, but you wanna know something ... ? I was among the many calling for Arians to go. His infatuation with deep patterns, along with a suspect offensive line, made Ben a ******* tackling dummy. I blamed him for Ben's insistence on throwing into double coverage on deep balls, for his seeming inability to hit an outlet receiver to avoid a sack in crucial situations, and for an offense scoring only 22-23 points per game.

But he has proven he is one of the best coaches in the NFL. His work at Indianapolis and at Arizona the past 3 seasons prove the point. His offense is borderline elite, with a very-good-not-great QB in Carson Palmer and an older Fitzgerald. His defenses have been extremely good, and damn, do they go after the passer!!

In the three seasons before Arians arrived, the Cardinals went 18-30. In the three seasons since his arrival, the same team has gone 34-13.

yinz do know this isn't the military. I served that is somewhat insulting..

two

nobody has "given up"

but most are smart enough to know a long shot when they see one

I expect the team to win next week..

but unless the Jets **** the bed we can kiss the playoffs goodbye

the same team that beat the Pats today

the same team that is getting hot and going against a Bills team that hasn't been hot

one can still hope for the best and at the same time realize the odds are looking bleak

He was a lousy OC as far as I'm concerned. Like you said he almost got Ben killed. But as a HC it seems like he can get his players to run through a brick wall for him.

I'm not going to put myself through another agonizing week 17 where we need other teams to lose and some weird, completely off-the-wall **** happens to keep us out of the playoffs. No. I'm not doing it to myself.

As far as I'm concerned, we are out of the playoffs. I will probably still watch us run up 50 in a meaningless victory against the Browns next week, but I refuse to inject any hope into the situation that the Jets will help us out, because they won't. I am simply not setting myself up for disappointment because, before today, all we had to do was take care of business against two teams with winning percentages resembling MLB batting averages to make the postseason. We did this to ourselves. I am not getting emotionally invested because, until today, I was. And see where it got me? Back to how I used to feel when we lost games. Miserable, angry beyond belief. For years now I was getting so good at not being upset by a Steelers loss but this season gave me new hope. And Mike Tomlin has taken that hope and **** down its throat.

No more. I'm done getting my hopes up while that man is in charge

I did a tour myself. It's part of why I can't understand how those same men came from a nation of such candy *****.

The Warrior Ethos:

"I will always place the MISSION FIRST,
I will NEVER ACCEPT DEFEAT,
I will NEVER QUIT
I will never leave a FALLEN COMRADE"

Grow balls, son.

There's a back door in even if the Jets win. And that's if the Broncos lose twice....and if Steelers don't get embarrassed by Johnny Foosball.

Broncos losing to Bengals then Chargers at home is pretty close to impossible, the defense is too good IMO.

You're probably right...

But remember: Gary Kubiak is the head coach.

Great guy, but very capable ot losing two in a row at home.

Last week at this time, I was so pumped and excited for this team.

A week later... seasons over(yes, I know not official but it's over).

We wouldn't have done much in the playoffs, anyway......you can't be an "all offense" team in the post-season.........at some point, you're going to have to stop the other guy.........

How the hell did our defense ever hold Cardinals to a low scoring game. How did we even win that game with Vick and Landry?... Cards are destroying teams.

Because we knew ahead of time the game would be difficult and prepared accordingly. Unlike today and the Chiefs game for instance, both of which are probably the most directly responsible for the predicament we are in

We were extremely fortunate Arizona couldn't find the endzone.

I guess our game next week might be flexed to 4pm slot.. so we may know whether we have a chance or not by game time.

Unless, they are flexing the Jets to Sunday night maybe.

I think Vikes vs Packers for the division.

I believe they have made a point in the last few years that any games that determine playoff qualifying be played at the same time. For example, our game, jets, and possibly broncos will b in the same slot (dont know whether 1 or 4) the 8 pm, game will have playoff implications, but not effect other teams.

As far as our chancee go....They are in the hands of ourselves and Rex Ryan. Thats not good..

In recent years every time our getting into the playoffs depended on another team or two to win or lose, it never worked out in our favor.

Just watch, Jets will lose and the Browns will beat us, 13-9 or some silly **** score like that to really put the dagger in our hearts. Not really surprises me anymore. The confidence was so high this past week that we were playing a wounded and laughable Ravens team, it was almost too easy and it bit us in the ***.

Who would have thought the Pats would have lost to the Jets this week. There is nothing that Rex would like to do more than ruin the Jets postseason hopes, so the Bills will come it ready to knock them off.

There was no bit in the ***....prepared teams are prepared to win, unprepared teams lose.
