I think it's possible that another coach would observe that Ben has a hard time getting his timing and accuracy down when returning from injury. I think that coach would come out with a game plan that focuses on getting Ben into a rhythm, calling quick, high percentage throws to build up his confidence early. Because, ya know, as fans we have been saying Ben is going to struggle in his first game back since the second he went down with that injury against Miami.
We have also been saying we suck against bad teams for years on this board. We've noticed on this board we are a different team on the road than we are at home. I think a different coach would develop different approaches to these types of games, because he has observed negative trends and wishes to correct them. I don't know if that means the practice prep all week, the film study, the play-calling. Whatever it takes, do it differently. I know it's cool for coaches to play up the whole "just another game" thing but when you've noticed that you always lose the same "types" of games, to the same "types" of teams, in the same "types" of ways EVERY TIME, then maybe you don't just conduct "business as usual"? Maybe you, actually ya know, adjust and ACTIVELY try to reverse the trend rather than keep doing the same things hoping the trend reverses itself?
