Tomlin sucks thread 11/6/16

Don't forget about this one. Tone was set early.

3rd and 9 at PIT 26
(14:05 - 1st) (Shotgun) L.Bell left tackle to PIT 28 for 2 yards (T.Jernigan; E.Weddle)

And again that play couldn't of been checked out of. And how do you know it wasn't checked into?? Oh that's right you don't

well **** always keep head coaches as they have little effect on the outcome of games it's the players.

nah mane the trends have shown themselves

they won't change until their is change

make the Steelers great again, fire Tomlin.

He answered above. Basically said the coaches called plays that have been successful in the past, so the players should execute the plays. Doesn't seem to matter what the opponents do as long as the Steelers players have executed before.

I answered this dumb *** question a zillion times and I just answered to you directly not too long ago. sorry Steelerfan448 should of been quoted for Bmoritz

And you don't know that the coaches didn't call it. Then again, if the coaches did called it, probably should have been a touchdown run if the players didn't suck so bad today.

coaches don't have to guide game in and game out?

amazing! fire Tomlin then because

well he isn't needed

I know, which is why I summarized your answer for the person who had the question.

For real. I'm pretty good at giving job interviews. I'm going to write letters to Art II suggesting he hire me to coach the team. I'd be able to pay off my student loan debt pretty quickly making $7m per year. Considering football games are determined 100% by the players on the field, what the hell difference would it make?

Again.....there is something called an audible. Ben either audibled into the run or he could of easily audibled out of the play. Pretty simple either way.

I don't think I saw Ben audible into another play until we were down 21. Unless they were verbal audibles, most of the time I see hand signals used on the road though.

/QUOTE]

Probably not....Doesn't mean we win with another HC in games against teams with losing records unless Ben plays better....right?

You've answered it a zillion times? Sorry, I must have missed it a zillion times, so please humor me and answer it again. You say you hold him accountable, but for what? And is HIS PERSONAL performance up to par? No need to be snarky about it, please just answer. Because to me, you put Mike Tomlin above the success of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Exactly I don't know because that's speculation. What I do know is that it wasn't executed. Cause lord knows we've never seen a team run a draw play and pick up yards before

If Coates catches that pass in the EZ do you think we have a chance to win? Yes ...We win and lose by what our players do on the field. The coaches have to put the players in a position to win. Our coaches did that today.....now some will bring in the whole trend thing.

Search for it.

No, answer it, with specifics. If he's so great, it should be very easy to answer.

And again no one has had a reply for the overthrown deep pass to Coates that could have changed the game early in the third QUARTER. That was on the coaches too correct

As soon as you find a post where I said he was great I will glad answer it

Just simply type Antdrewjosh and Tomlin is great into the search feature. I do it to catch Coach in his bullshit all the time

I think it's possible that another coach would observe that Ben has a hard time getting his timing and accuracy down when returning from injury. I think that coach would come out with a game plan that focuses on getting Ben into a rhythm, calling quick, high percentage throws to build up his confidence early. Because, ya know, as fans we have been saying Ben is going to struggle in his first game back since the second he went down with that injury against Miami.

We have also been saying we suck against bad teams for years on this board. We've noticed on this board we are a different team on the road than we are at home. I think a different coach would develop different approaches to these types of games, because he has observed negative trends and wishes to correct them. I don't know if that means the practice prep all week, the film study, the play-calling. Whatever it takes, do it differently. I know it's cool for coaches to play up the whole "just another game" thing but when you've noticed that you always lose the same "types" of games, to the same "types" of teams, in the same "types" of ways EVERY TIME, then maybe you don't just conduct "business as usual"? Maybe you, actually ya know, adjust and ACTIVELY try to reverse the trend rather than keep doing the same things hoping the trend reverses itself?

execution comes from a solid head coach making sure they are capable of executing by putting them in the best position to succeed based on the knowledge of personnel and the opponent.

A solid coach knows the X and O's and knows what will work and what won't and throws the hammer down on what he wants.

Nothing about this team screams well coached.

nothing

So what happened on the wide open overthrow? Whose fault was that.

You can't answer it, can you? I have asked you multiple times, you claim to have answered it a zillion times, but I'm not seeing it. It's a very simple question (actually two questions). What is he, as the head coach, responsible for? And has his performance met the Steelers standards.

Maybe you didn't say the exact words "Mike Tomlin is great", but come on, you've been defending him to the death for a while now, it's an easy inference to read into.

What in the hell is unprepared?? Did they practice all week. Did they look confused. Besides Ben I mean. The defense played well. One miss tackle by Mitchell.

You know they only un-prepare the offense. Damn Tomlin forgot to practice the offense the last 2 weeks. They must have changed everything since they were 4-1, that **** was working. Let's start over and try a new style of coaching.

Same thing for several years now, at least from my seat. This coaching staff is simply incapable of making adjustments. Sometimes they come up with a gameplan that just works (think Kansas City this season). Sometimes they come up with a gameplay that isn't going to work no matter how many drives the offense gets (think today or Philadelphia or Miami this season). Whichever is the case, the game almost seems to be decided in the first quarter depending upon whether we have a good gameplay or a bad gameplan right from the start. I don't see many games over the past 5-6 years where the team makes adjustments and changes their approach to pull out a game when possible.

Is it all that simple? Of course not. Players have to execute too. But the overall grade is that this team routinely underachieves.

whats the definition of ignorance?
doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results

ladies and gentleman say hello to Mikey Mike and the playdown to competition funkybunch.

In this thread I explained why I defend him read back

100% Ben's, and I mean that wholeheartedly. Feel better? Clearly he was not playing well at all today, and I do think in the 3rd quarter he should have been pulled. I understand we probably still would've lost and people would've criticised Tomlin for taking him out, but I honestly wouldn't have. Ben clearly was playing like **** today. I would even go so far as to say for THIS GAME, Ben was the biggest reason we lost. But my problem with what I'll call "apologists" is that they only look at one game bubbles, and not the trends over YEARS that Tomlin does not improve.
