We have become a global embarrassment.
I didn't see the part where they banned Hungarian douchebags.
We have become a global embarrassment.
So, other countries have driven infection rates to near zero, but then they open up and bam! New cases. One thing that Trump is absolutely right about...we are testing more per capita than every other country now. So who's to say cases aren't rising more than we know in other countries too.
We can slow this with mask wearing but we can't stop it. What's the solution TIbs? Full vaccination will take years if it ever happens. What should Trump do? Stay at home orders forever? Do you think a national mask mandate is enforceable or will it just cause people to want to rebel even more?

So while I'm not a fan of many dumb things Trump says I'm not sure what exactly he could be doing (beyond encouraging people to wear masks, which he has at least started to do in lukewarm fashion).
This should instill loads of trust and confidence in the notion that Trump is on top of this.

I hear ya, OFTB.I think the problem here is that we are a free society. We don't want an overbearing government forcing things on us. We don't want to be tracked and traced and forced to stay in our homes.
I hear ya, OFTB.

I don't know if Fauci is being an alarmist but he sure has been wrong a hell of a lot for a leading expert in the field.
First and foremost, the disinformation campaign being waged by Trump and his associates has to stop. He's created widespread confusion and chaos with his anti-Science messaging.
Dr. Anthony Fauci said Americans could meet people they matched with on dating apps if they were "willing to take a risk" with their health and the wellbeing of others.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director told the Snapchat show Good Luck America on Tuesday that the level of risk involved would depend on how intimate people were.
According to a transcript of the three-part interview with Dr. Fauci, published by Vanity Fair, the host Peter Hamby asked Dr. Fauci what people should say to matches on dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble amid widespread pandemic shutdowns.
"You know, that's tough. Because it's what's called relative risk," Dr. Fauci said. "If you really feel that you don't want to have any part of this virus, will you maintain six feet away, wear a mask, do all the things that we talk about in the guidelines?
"If you're willing to take a risk—and you know, everybody has their own tolerance for risks—you could figure out if you want to meet somebody. And it depends on the level of the interaction that you want to have."
He added: "If you're looking for a friend, sit in a room and put a mask on, and you know, chat a bit. If you want to go a little bit more intimate, well, then that's your choice regarding a risk."
The leading infectious disease expert on President Donald Trump's coronavirus task force warned that making sure your date was feeling will would not mitigate the risk of being exposed to COVID-19.
"If everybody transmitted would only transmit when they're sick, that would be much easier," Dr. Fauci said. "But what we're seeing... is that there's a considerable amount of transmission from an asymptomatic person."
Here's the truth about the incompetent Fauci.

Yes, we should trust the EXPERTS like Dr. Fauci...he's been brilliant...riiigghhht? He has waffled on every single thing. But this...this is his most epic of epic stupid quotes, from April:
Think about the epic amount of stupid involved with this and his prior directives...
-- Normal Americans should maintain 6 feet of distance and wear masks (after this whack said wearing masks was utterly ineffective)
-- But those dating should be able to so long as THEY are willing to assume risk..."If you wanna go throw down with some ho, that's up to you."
-- He goes further. You may be willing to assume personal risk, but it's also ok to risk the wellbeing of OTHERS if you need to get laid.
-- But Americans who want to assume risks by say....going to church or seeing their hairdresser...Fauci says that is unsafe...
Dr. Fauci - it's ok to jump on Bumble and find a one night, ****-and-go during COVID.
Yeah, I've been done listening to this tool for some time. Michael Avenatti Fauci lost credibility quite some time back.
Both Bill Nye and this lady are frauds because mask wearing is not about how much air or how many virus particles get through. It's about how far and wide droplets of saliva and mucus spread. But interestingly enough for people who say they can't breathe with a cloth mask on and CO2 can't get out, I guess this lady just disproved that theory.
I think his point there was you are risking spreading it to each other but not risking spreading it to a large number of people who would then exponentially spread it to others.
"Dr. Anthony Fauci said Americans could meet people they matched with on dating apps if they were "willing to take a risk" with their health and the wellbeing of others."
You think it's ok for people to hook up, ****, contract COVID, and that won't affect the spread of the virus?? It won't lead to "large" spread so it's ok?
We don't know exactly how it's spread as we've been told all along...
I'd rather eat the *** out of a dead skunk.
I wear a mask in stores and stuff. It's mandatory around here most places to get service anyway. I do find it silly that if you go into a restaurant you have to have a mask on, but once you are seated, you can take it off. Guess this virus takes dinner breaks too.
Just too much conflicting stuff for people not to question it. I mean, can't go to church, but I can riot with thousands of my closest friends. Can't go to the polls to vote, but I can hang out in the cesspool that is walmart with as many people and as long as I like. Add to that all the dishonest **** the government has pulled on it's people in recent years and you expect people are going trust anything that is coming from the government? Even when it is from health experts, who, coincidentally, continue to put out conflicting information almost daily. You want Americans to trust those people? I'd rather eat the *** out of a dead skunk.
I was 100% with you till this part. Yer on your own.
What he actually said:
If everybody transmitted would only transmit when they're sick, that would be much easier," Dr. Fauci said. "But what we're seeing... is that there's a considerable amount of transmission from an asymptomatic person."
