your premise seems to be that if everything just stayed shut down, the rona would have just died out and everybody could come out with no ill effects. That's stupid. This isn't a hurricane that you wait out in a storm cellar. Maybe a small group or small country can do that but no large nation can just hibernate and come out virus free in a few months.
Lots of things factor into the numbers...number of tests is one. Demographics is another. Population density is another.
The surge was going to happen regardless. Timing might have been different, but the surge was always going to happen. This is America. I’m not sure what anyone else expected.
What about opening noisy bars and nightclubs in mid-May where people crowded together and shouted in each others faces?
noisy bars? from what - sound systems? music being played? people living their lives?
shouting in each others faces? seriously - you believe that?
don't ever ask why this gif was made just for you. it just was.

Tell it to the EU. They are larger than the US and are also much more densely populated.
My son started back to school at ECU on August 10th. Today he is headed to be tested for COVID because one of the girls he has class and studies with tested positive. What a **** show.
Sadly, I think that is gonna be the new normal for a while. It definitely is a **** show. I saw that UNC cancelled in person class- do you think ECU will follow?
and not all of them did lockdowns. Sweden decided to simply do social distancing but never closed businesses or schools because they wanted to achieve herd immunity. It appears they have. Europe shows lockdowns just delay the inevitable.
They changed the justification for lockdowns as well. The only justification was to "flatten the curve", meaning lower the number of people in hospitals, specifically in ICU with ventilators. That goal was achieved months ago. So they moved the goalposts to "cases". Now they are talking about needing a vaccine.
I do. Since school started cases have skyrocketed. It isn’t a matter of if anymore. It’s a matter of when.

So the PA sec of health (the he/she) created new orders where if a nursing home has N95s they have to use them. We have like 10 grand KN95s and only a couple grand N95s (and you can not get them right now). The KN95s are not Niosh approved, so we are forced to use the N95s first. They basically want you to use up your "good stuff" first. Regardless if you have active cases or not. It makes 0 sense. Along those lines our Covid testing this week has been horrible. Today we got results from tests done on Monday and have had 15 employees test positive. I am guessing that was 15 out of about 70 or so. We have over 100 employees, but not all got tested monday. No resident results have come back yet. Out of the 15 only one has had symptoms and she was exposed elsewhere and informed via contact tracing. Both her and her 5-6 yr old daughter are sick....As for the others who knows. We are either going to get hammered or we had a bad batch of tests?

Not to be a snitch (LOL), but you do know they have been reporting on the news around here all the partying going on at ECU, UNC, NCSU and Duke..........big parties. The one they talked about at ECU they said was around 400+ people. Of course this is what these kids do on campus, but the news and the local govt. are into shaming people about these things.
So............I'm sure your son was studying when he was exposed.(just kidding)

Really? Why haven't cases "skyrocketed" in ******* China, where apparently nobody is wearing masks any more, are attending massive gatherings shoulder-to-shoulder, and the disease has amazingly disappeared?
Can you explain this? Can anybody?
The first person to say "Trump" will be met with 147/7000th of a pound of jacketed lead. REAL explanations only, you poser wanna-be, bullshit fake Chinese flu experts.
Seriously. The disease is out there. China is pushing for more travel from the US to China. Europe has had kids in schools for months. Sweden never locked down.
So all of the bullshit claims about why America has "so many" Chinese flu cases don't wash. They don't. Schools open for months, no rampant spread. Huge gatherings in the ******* place where the disease was developed and released, no masks, no problem.
So explain please why only the United States is getting ****** in the *** by the Chinese flu??
