2015 Pirates thread

That would be nice, but odds aren't in that favor.

If they play as they have in the Central up to now, they'll be 97-55 to end the season. And that's assuming they only drop one to the Dodgers, and don't lose any to Colorado. In division, they have 14 at home, and 12 away. Based on season averages so far, that puts them 11-15 over those games. Not good. I hope they have this away game 0.280 average behind them, much of that was April and early May when they weren't playing that well. We'll see. Don't drop three to Milwaukee and Cincy, that would be a good start

Morton, like Locke, has no mental fortitude... when he gave up the first hit of the game in the 4th, you could see what was coming... good stuff, just doesn't have the mindset to go with it

well They cant beat the Brewers. I dont know why Hurdle keeps putting cole out with Cervelli instead of Stewart... at least now there is litte chance we catch the cards... my worse case scenerio was we tied for the division lead, lost the one game to decide it, and were down cole for the wild card. even if we won we would be down Liriano and Cole for the start of the next series

Agree here. Just isn't working. Any other team than the Cards I'd still feel we could catch - they just have more lives than a cat.

Still I think we're okay in a one game against the Cubs. Then I like our chances vs the Cards in a playoff series. Gotta get there first, we HAVE to win these games against lesser teams and then take care of business with the Cards as we gear up for the 1 seed.

Yeah, well at the rate they're going right now, they'll be playing that WC in Chicago, if they're lucky. It's like they all went home, and second string came out to play. I'm beginning to wonder if they'll break 0.500

I dont know if Im ready for this series or not. There is a very very very large amount of Cards fans here in Houston and they are ********. So I may have to watch this series in the comforts of home. I am still holding faithful. With the NFL pissing me off, my baseball interests are starting to grow back.

That being said, I may spend my holiday in jail because I could possible bunch a Cards fan in the face. Fortunately between Rangers and Stros fans down here, I have back up. ha

Well who doesn't want to punch Cards fans in the face?

Cards are a very lucky and a very good team... and that's why they are so far ahead... talent wise they really aren't that far from the Pirates

Its a damn good thing they don't let horribad teams into the postseason... as long as they play decent teams the pirates have a shot

I watched the game last night - dick punched those Cards, 9 runs, 17 ******* hits!

way to go Buccos!

Polanco has had a pretty great 2nd half. .297 with a .801 OPS. That OPS over the course of the season would make him nearly a top 20 hitter in the NL. Hopefully he continues to build on this cause he is becoming a monster.

Buccos pounded the Cards again for 7 runs, a dozzen hits, 3 HR's - they ain't ****

Those stupid announcers on Sunday Night Baseball were the worst - the game kept getting in the way of their stupid little stories, like they were annoyed they had to call the game on the field and running so many graphics and slo-mo replays all the time you couldn't even tell when real game action was going on.

And that annoying skirt announcer couldn't keep her mouth shut, jabbering all the time telling all the players how to hit - is this what baseball has become?

So far, everyone Ive ever met, lol. Super excited about the games this weekend. I have a hard time catching between work and local coverage. Thanks for the innerwebs.

The webz are the bestest!

And that Francisco, is what they pay you $15M/year for. 10 K's, three hits, no runs. And two hits of your own. Can you pitch like that now through the post-season?

Steelers bumble around the field while the Pirates still can't beat the god awful Brewers. And the Cards got pounded. The night was a total failure.
