2015 Pirates thread

Well hot damn, a sweep?? I didnt expect this to start the season..

well I watched them lose again

baseball sucks

The Bucs might not win a game this year. Were the Reds supposed to be good this year? I heard rumblings that the Cubs and Cards would give the Bucs a run for their money, but the Redlegs have some good ballplayers.

watched the cabbies the other night and it was the same old Cubs. Very bad news bears like.

Caminero bustin 100 mph....cool.

beating the Yeasties at Miller is always nice.

Alvarez is off to a great start. It would be huge for them if he can finally develop some degree of consistency in his game.

I'm starting to become a little worried about Polanco. He looked just as clueless at the plate last night as he did last season.

The starting pitching has been decent so far. Once the bullpen settles down, they should start stringing some wins together.

Stolmy Pimentel claimed off waivers by the Rangers. Can't say I will lose any sleep over this.

Walker with another 3 run shot. Pittsburgh Lumber Company finally showed up.

Great win to take the road series today.

It was impressive due to both their ability to overcome their best starting pitcher missing his scheduled start and the killer instinct they displayed by capitalizing on the error in the Brewers' outfield to put the game away.

McCutchen is a stud. They probably will not be able to sign him to a third contract, especially given the risk of him being in his 30s for the majority of it, but it's always fun to watch a legitimately great player in a Pirates uniform. He's the best Pirates' player since Barry Bonds and may end up being being a better overall player when it's all said and done.

I'm looking forward to Cole's start against a good Tigers' team in the PNC Park opener tomorrow afternoon.

Pittsburgh Lumber Company at it again 3 Pirate Homers. J-Hay leadoff the bottom of the 1st with a first pitch Homer. Cole pitched very good with 8 strikeouts. Melancon nearly gave it away in the top of the 9th though.

That ended up being too close for comfort, but Melancon showed the mental toughness to get it done when he absolutely had to.

Cole is frustrating, as he has the talent to win a Cy Young one day, but too often puts a great start in jeopardy with an extremely shaky middle inning.

Alvarez continues to slug, and Polanco is coming around. If they can get Marte going, the offense will be dangerous.

Great solid baseball win last night against the Brew Crew... Polanco was unreal and Marte absolutely crushed one.

yep, Marte's was a no doubter....451 and climbing when it went over the fence.

hopefully the bats keep at it, pitching has been fairly solid.

Milwaukee used to be the equivalent of Ebola to the Pirates. Now, they've become penicillin for whatever ails the Bucs.

Another 3 run Tater by Marte.

Melancon trying to blow this game. Bases loaded with nobody out.

Wow.. implosion all over tonight.. least the top of the order is up..

I thought the bullpen was supposed to be a strength of this team. Early in the season, but so far it's been a disappointment.
