Get Melancon out of the closer role before he ruins the season. Horrible. Never was a true closer anyway, a closer generally should have a minimum 95 mph fast ball.

I long for the days of Hanrahan. Melancon sucks and has for the past three seasons.

Closers blew 2 games in a row. We should have had that last night. Up by 3 in the 8th and up by 2 heading into the 9th. No excuse to lose that game.

Losses do not get much more painful than that one.

Melancon is going to have to be replaced, as something is obviously wrong with him physically, whether it be injury or general decline.

Watson will likely be next in line, but he hasn't exactly been great either.

The bullpen is in the process of blowing it again.

Hurdle and Huntington need to this **** fixed ASAP.

The Pirates have too much hitting and starting pitching talent for it all to go to waste due to a poor relief pitching.

Fortunately, they held on.

Watson looks to be the closer now. Good to see.

Caminero needs to be the number two guy. Hughs just isn't that guy.

Pirates have won 4 in a row and 7 of 9. Melancon starting to rack up the saves

Melancon's control was crap tonight. Glad they won, but he was less than impressive. I see it's going to be a love/hate relationship with him this season, as I hold my breath when he's on the mound.

Well can't get the bats going and Locke and Worley looked like ****. Down 6-2 currently.. cant get any hits.. though I will say they had some hard hit balls but nothing is dropping.

We need to stop playing the damn Cubs already. They have been kicking our ***** since the start of the season. What is that, 6 or 7 losses to them already?

They split the four game series with the Cubs at PNC Park.

This series in Chicago has been ugly.

The Cubs have taken advantage of the Pirates' weaker starters, but they'll face Cole tonight. Hopefully, the Pirates can salvage a game.

Polanco being out of the lineup hasn't helped either, especially with Harrison and McCutchen still not hitting. Those two need to get their ***** in gear, as we're going into May now.

The best news of the season so far is Cole is beginning to look like a #1/stopper.

3-4 vs Cubs so far isn't bad. Teams are starting to get the book on their young hitters, so I expect they will cool off.
They also have a really bad bullpen and that will wear on them as the season progresses.

This team cannot hit right now. This Cards series was a lot of wasted really good pitching by the Buccos staff. No run support. Need to turn it around or this could be a very frustrating season.

Extremely tough series to watch this weekend. Need to at least win the next two series. A sweep of the Cards next weekend would be nice.

Typically teams that pitch as well as the Pirates have win over the long haul, but it can frustrating to watch in the stretches where the offense isn't doing jack ****.

Harrison and McCutchen need to get it going, McCutchen will get it going eventually, but I'm worried about Harrison. That new contract may have been premature. It might be time to let the Korean dude play more.

I would play Kang more, we might have found something. In his limited opportunities he seems to come thru in

Harrison is just trying to justify that contract too hard... needs to look for what he can get like last year, not try to kill every ball

Bullshit! if you watched the game today there was no evidence of it. he ran up the freaking wall.
Kang still on fire! the win today was because of him.
