2015 Pirates thread

Based on his behavior, I could have sworn McCutchen played today's game under the influence of some illicit drug.

It was just bizarre, to say the least.

Kang needs to be playing everyday, no question.

looks like the Pirates finally found their bats on a consistent basis

It's still a bit early, but I'm not overly optimistic right now.

This looks like the old pirates I'm used to. I know it's early but I don't see the cards fading and the bucs can't beat anyone in their own division except the only team that is behind them.

Well I'm trying to stay optimistic. They have a better record now than they did at this point last year. My only concern I'd that they can't win in extras or one run games.

They can't win in their division either. 16 of their losses are against divisional foe's. That's not going to get you very far.

I finally get my first broadcast of the season and they flip it to the Yankees before JHay batted. Grrr.

doing better than they were last year at this point.

but so are the Cards.

the Bucs are already playing for the Wild Card slot.

That was a pretty dominant series by the Pirates' pitching and hitting, and there was some great defense and base running in there too.

Looking forward to Morton's return tonight. They really need some depth behind their big three.

.500 is a big psychological barrier. They need to focus on clearing it and then turning their attention to making a run at the Cardinals.

always nice to sweep the Mets, even if they are long gone as rivals.

anyone else remember Pete Rose and Bud Harrelson duking it out at 2nd, circa '73?

anyone that wanted to toss them BOTH bats?

personally, I bet Morton get's shelled...but we'll see.

Stanton is a beast. Makes one helluva catch in right to rob JHay of extra bases and a run then comes up at cranks a HR like it was just a routine swing. Too bad he is on a crap team. He would look great in B&G.

I bet every Bucs pitcher gets shelled and they dont win another game.

championship, yer welcome.

If their young starting pitching returns to health, I think they have a chance to be good as early as next season, with an addition or two to their infield.

Stanton is an amazing player, but I will never have to worry about drying my eyes in sympathy for the questionable competitive situation he's in, given that contract he just signed.

He could have waited and got comparable money from another club.

Ground Chuck in full Effect! was a pretty good outing.

The richest contract in sports. Crazy *** money for any one player. They have rebuilt twice and won. No reason why they could not do it again. He must like South Beach to sign to play there for another 13 years. Oh and the money helps.

2 sweeps in a row. pitching, hitting and defense all on a roll at the same time.

Two big sweeps heading into a road trip. Keep the momentum rolling!

Pittsburgh Lumber Company dealt out an *** whipping last night winning 11-5. 3 homeruns crushed in the first 3 innings. 2 of them upper deckers.

I like that Alvarez is beating the shift by going up the middle and to the opposite field.

Anybody know the origin of the pose they do after a big hit. They have obviously moved on from Zoltan.
