2015 Pirates thread

No posts in almost 2 weeks whats going on in here....I know one thing either McCutchen needs to start charging the mound or we need to start throwing at the other teams guys. He has been hit or almost hit in at least 4-5 games in a row now. Does not seem like its accidental anymore....

he's been hitting 0.358 since May 7th. last weekend was a kick in the nuts. playing great for a month and a half and finally gaining some ground up to 4 games back, then loose a bunch and now 8 games back. The ******** were matching us win for win and loss for loss to that point.

It's basically a 3 way battle for the 2 wild card spots. Us, the Cubs, and whoever finishes second in the west between SF, and LA. Hate to have your season come down to a single game, but that's probably going to be our fate for the third straight year. Hopefully we won't have to face a pitcher on a historic roll like Bumgarner was last year.

We desperately need a first baseman that can hit more than .220. Alvarez experiment needs to end. All he's good for is to DH. Trade him to AL for a bag of bats or something. Rodriguez isn't much better but at least he can play some defense.

Bucs now have a 5 game cushion for a wild card spot, with a 2.5 game lead on the Cubs for the first spot. The Giants have fallen 2.5 behind the Cubs for the second spot. I'd much rather face the Cubs than the Giants. Hopefully the Bucs will have enough of a cushion at the end to be able to set up their pitching. Would be nice if the second spot went down to the last day, making the Cubs, and Giants burn their best pitchers. Long way to go as we hit the halfway point today.

Cutch AJ Shark and Cole to the all star game. Cerveilli robbed in my opinion.

Congrats to those four players and it is too bad Cervelli didn't make it. He seems like a great guy to have in the clubhouse and has done a great job stepping up to replace Martin.

Losing Harrison for six weeks sucked. Especially when his replacement at the top of the order is Polanco. Haven't heard any update on Marte.

It's looking like Marte may be out for awhile, as well.

It could not be a worse time to lose two of their three best offensive players, with that huge series with Cardinals coming up.

wow what a crazy game....worst case scenario now 2-2 split with the cards not bad

A game like that against your rival can carry a team to a championship. Incredible game.

So the umpire "heard" a foul tip?

What the hell is with A.J and these phantom foul tips??

So MLB replay gives oversight and correction for blown calls and in one area where the Umps do not have that oversight it gets ridiculously worse.........yeah right.

The entire viewing audience knew in 5 seconds after the play that it was the wrong call. Why they need to have such a long, complex replay system (the same with college football and NFL) that still misses calls makes no sense.

I think they couldn't overturn it because once the ump called foul, the runner lost his chance to run to first base on a strikeout that wasn't caught. Very similar to a play in football being blown dead because an inadvertent whistle makes some guys stop running.

Another impressive game...Nice going into the break on a roll

LET'S GO BUCS!!

Best non post season game I have seen in a long time. This year's team looks to have the tools and chemistry to go all the way. There was no despair when they came to bat. Confidence is at a high I have not seen since the early 90s.

Very excited about the Bucs...........Another great game.

Too bad I had to listen to most of the last 2 games on BSPN Radio, those 2 chuckleheads talk about anything but what is going on in front of them.

Did you know that there are not enough Vegan options in Pittsburgh??......That is exactly what we need, more Kale. so pompous ******** can brag about eating it.

Come on Sirrus and MLB.TV do not force me to watch/listen to the BSPN Feed....give me my options back on National Broadcasts.

What a terrific weekend for Pirate baseball. Taking three in a row from the division and MLB leaders with some of the most exciting baseball we have seen since the Wildcard game in 2013. This team shows they have the tools to compete down the stretch, but they have to tweak certain parts. Their base running can be embarrassing and giving up the lead in extra innings is playing with fire. When the Cards get their stars back, they can very well be the world beaters they started out as. The Pirates have taken advantage of their injuries, but have to keep up the momentum. The All-Star Game came at a good/bad time. They can use the rest, but they are flying so high right now. The second half schedule will be a tough one. No gimmes coming up.

Watching Miguel Sano thus far makes me sad. Otherwise, happy with the direction of this team.

What you mean about Sano?

That he's freaking crushing MLB pitching and we got screwed on signing him somewhere in the process. And I don't think it was necessarily all about the money either.
