2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

This roster is banged up. I can see them beating the caps. I think they have just enough. Who knows --- maybe they do spark if they advance. But they seriously look fatigued

Epo..
Hahaha

The caps invested this whole season into getting over the 2nd round and the Pens at that. Nisakenen and Tom Wilson have me feeling a dislike on a flyer level for the caps.

Consistently speaking.
But it's been like that the past three games

I honestly admire your optimism, but with the exception of game 2, the Pens have been outplayed. By a large margin. The fact that it is 3-3 is a testament more to luck than anything else.

Fleury falling apart in the playoffs is the most predictable outcome in sports, of course he had no support offensively or defensively.

At this point I'll just give the Caps credit for making the adjustments that completely exposed and exploited every weakness of the Pens.

Sid, Geno and Phil gotta will us to victory on Weds, .simple as that.

**** that balanced line ****, load up two lines and doubleshift them till they drop.

Time for some Mike Lange calls for motivation...

I admit the Pens have been outplayed. All it takes is a lucky puck bounce and some.
I've seen enough hockey where even a dominant team has lost a game.

Going back on the regular season though. Probably after the stadium series game when the injuries really started to pile up and the Pens were going into OT games, that's when I started to get a hunch that they'd burn out. Playing CBJ first round didn't help at all.

As long as the guys are still playing though. I always remain optimistic

Agreed!

Phil is a support guy.
Sid has carried this team all season.
Malkin needs a big big big game.

I'm eager to see what adjustments Sullivan makes. I'll be tuning in wednesday

Fleury should have stopped a couple of those goals, but when you are constantly under siege it is hard to fault him. When two guys have a clear clearing shot and both F it up, you cant blame the goalie. Sid and Jake definitely need to be together. I do not understand not resting guys. Fleury should have been out. Sid / Malkin / Kessel should have had limited minutes. Let the younger guys take longer shifts. They definitely need some kinda pumping up.

Marty Bourdeur could've been back there and gave up some goals. It was just a bad team game

I am for any new legs they can find to replace the tired ones.

Shultz is decent on the PP
Possibly sit Maata even Dumo if they are tired.
Cole is solid.
Hainsey? Eh....he has his moments. I'm up for some new legs too

One thing I wont do is blame MAF for any of these losses with the team playing like a festering pile of dog **** in front of him.

I like Cullen. But maybe it's time to try a younger centerman next game.

This Penguin team is tired, and dinged. From what I saw last night, they have little chance of finishing this thing out. Even if they get past the Caps, I don't think they have enough in the tank for a run. This is a series that they really needed a healthy Letang. Sid is not himself. I just think the wear and tear has taken it's toll.

Their inability to get the puck out of their own end doomed them. It was going to catch up to us eventually, but 5 shots in 30 minutes didn't help either.

Pens were simply riding the prevent/collapse style of defense, counting on blocked shots to save them. That cover is blown now. Caps just skate right up the ice, stop and shoot right in front of the net, not the perimeter.

In reality, Caps have been the better team (by a lot) in 5 of the 6 games.

Very fortunate to get out to a 3-1 series lead, right up to a 2-1 lead going into the 3rd . of game 5. Then Fleury's playoff demons bubbled up, 2 softies later, doomed.

Young legs carried the team, then you start putting the fossils like Kunitz back in? Sully sullyed himself.

I say screw it, dress Sprong and Archi. Two kids that play with passion. Scratch the corpse of Kunitz.

This!

It's plain as day to see how beat these guys are. They are trudging along. I said this last night.
Even if they do win, I cannot see them getting past the rags/sens. CBJ and Wash took too much of a toll.

I'll say, I'd be more than happy to KO the caps. For as much as the caps invested in cup run this season. Sometimes the best revenge in the series is to beat them in front of their home crowd in a game 7.

I still believe the Pens have one last hurrah in them against the caps. Sullivan just needs to play his aces

I've noticed the Caps are grabbing and tugging at the Pens to slow them down. That is causing the Pens to skate as they are going through quicksand. If the refs will not call it, how can I blame the Caps for not doing it? It's getting more evident in every game and it blows, if you are fan of hockey. They are killing their momentum and speed.

There has to be a serious game adjustment for them have a snowball's chance in Hell. Do they play prevent/left wing lock through two periods and then let it hang out in the 3rd? Right now, the Pens can't keep up with the intensity and speed of WASH. I can't believe I just typed that, but it's true. They are just skating around out there with no purpose. Our snipers our MIA and the D is spent and slow. I have little faith that they don't get run out of WASH early tomorrow night. Unless Sully pulls the biggest coaching magic show before our eyes, the Dirty Caps are going to get past the 2nd round. They smell and taste it now.

Game 2 and 3 had some uncalled holds. Especially Cullen on a short handed break away. Early on in the series, despite being outplayed. The Pens speed was pulling through. As the refs started "letting them play" it's just been a physical *** whoopin on the good guys.

Now again, there still is a game 7 to be played. The Pens winning is 50/50. A few tweaks and freah faces to some lines can get them this series.

50/50 is being generous. They need to infuse some young legs tomorrow night. I think I would sit some older guys for fresh legs. Kunitz, maybe Cullen, Hainsey?? Their age is catching up to them in this series. A spark is needed.

This is set up for a classic Craps choke job. Game 7 at home, tight sphincters.

Dreaming, the Pens are the ones ******** all over themselves

You won't win getting outshot 40-20 every game. Eventually it will come back to bite you. Breaking up Sid and Jake and Malkin and Kessel was stupid too.

...and when you pull the pin on the MAF playoff grenade, it's only a matter of time until it blows up in your face. This team is back to "knowing" who they have in goal.
