What a flip in the turn of events. Nashville was owning the first until the off-sides call. Totally different teams now.

Wow, what a clinic. This is the result of playing the 4th, 1st and 12th best team, only to face the 16th best team in the league in the finals...
Somebody either here or on another board said that based on his play during the playoffs, there was no way we'd see the Pecker that hasn't played well/had good luck against the Pens ....
I just hope that the Pecker we're seeing so far continues to show up in this game and the rest of the series.

In fairness, I think Nashville has better to give than that. I hope they don't, but considering the teams they beat to get here, I don't think it is a fluke.
I don't discredit the effort, but they are the worst team to make the playoffs record wise. They have been playing great hockey and Rinne is absolutely stealing series. They just don't have depth.
You did get to see what Nashville does well in the first half of the first period. That is stepping over the blue line, firing a shot, and crashing the net. It does make for exciting hockey, and this is probably the most active first period we've seen this playoffs.

Pens playing prevent defense ... playing to protect a lead rather than add to it. As Stonio Holmes would say, "that's NOT how you be great"!!

Night & day better.
The Preds just threw their best at our goalie without a goalie stick. Pens chances have been here and there. Definitely opportunistic. Nashville may have the "names" on defense.
But given playing against a bigger opponent in Washington and a suffocating system in Ottawa. The Pens can and will expose these guys
Just be happy the guys are still up 3-1.
Pens will wake up Sarge. I'm starting to see a Pens team who plays in spurts. I would love for them to sustain, but the team is set up to get the wingers and centerman going, often at times leaving the Defense to dry
Anywho here is to a strong 3rd
