2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

One last one...Kinda symbolizes the run we just had. Hell I'm going to miss not listening to the playoffs every 2-3 days and bullshitting with you all.
At least training camp starts in a few weeks.

Sorry Nashville. Better luck next time.

They sure showed their true colors tonight. Typical show-biz community. Tennessee is actually a great state with a lot of good people. They have to be embarrassed by how they were represented by those morons in Nashville tonight.

Had to break out one of my favorite tunes by one the best guitarists, entertainers, and one of the nicest people I've ever met...

Just a thought ... Sullivan has coached the Pens for two years ... two Stanley Cup Championships ... Of course this makes him the most accomplished coach in town, but did these last two years just punch his ticket to the HOF?

Tomlin should honestly take some lessons from Sullivan. The Penguins won due to adjustments / adaptations. 1st 2 rounds the Pens got the crap beat out of them, but just kept plugging away. Next series was against a team that totally clogged up the middle with not much open ice. The finals were against a team with very good defense some speed and some skill. The way Sullivan juggled the lineups due to injuries or just plan ineffectiveness was highly impressive. Only knock I would give him would be for the powerplay. They never really seemed to get it going there.

News reporting this morning that last night's Stanley Cup win gives Pittsburgh 16 championships in the four major professional sports. This ties us with Philadelphia for 6th place BUT is the most for any city with only 3 professional sports teams.

We have 17. I'm counting the ABA title by the Pipers.

Hats off to the front office for not trading Fleury at the deadline. The Caps would be hoisting the cup had we made that deal, and we might be hearing that Ovie is the world's best player. :grief::tsk::mmph:

Not to clog this thread with football (baseball) talk, however, one would assume that it would be easier to make adjustments and have the team effectively execute them during a 7 game series than it would be with one shot. Of course, I'm of the mind that Hurdle could learn a little from Sullivan too. Sullivan (other than his love affair with Kuny on the top lines) will sit a guy and replace him with another when guy #1 isn't producing. Hurdle has a tendency to stick with the Lockes and Glasnows of the world even when doing so is obviously detrimental to the team.

Who gives a flying #$%& what they say. Apparently Nashville didn't commit any penalties tonight either. Enjoy it!! :)
Exactly! The most aggressive, dirtiest and undisciplined team in the NHL goes from getting around 6 penalties a game (and could have been easily double that) to zero. Ya, sure. They had at least 10 no calls in last nights game and about 5 in the 3rd period before the Preds were handed a 2 man advantage. **** Nashville! **** the refs! And, **** the NHL!!!!!!!!!

If they cannot score on the 2 man advantage then there is their problem.
The crowd and calls went their way most of the night. The Pens just pulled through when needed.

I'm enjoying the victory and being on top of the hockey world yet again. For the true Nashville fans.
Congrats, it's been a weird series. But they were classy. The other fans whined and booed while the refs tried everything to screw the Pens over

My bro in-law said Hornqvist of all guys has to score against his team. But it's fans like him who keep it classy.

Back to back champs!!!

Still hasn't really sunk in.

Seeing Murray get all emotional talking about MAF last night. Chills! O.o

I don't know. I feel like they probably weren't coached to pass the puck around 700 times and not shoot on the PP.

I think most of those Nashville fans were there for a country music concert. They sure emptied their arena in a hurry when it was over.

Welcome back

You are welcome. I didn't watch but maybe 2 games out of the whole playoffs....and those games were lost by the Pens. So yeah, I'm superstitious.

That being said- Nashville has worse bandwagon jumping fans than the Patriots. What a classless bunch of whiny, fish throwing douchebags. The only reason anyone knows Nashville has a team is because of Mr. Carrie Underwood.

What Nashville and NBC failed to realize is a lot of hockey fans are not Country Music fans. All that hoopla and fanfare is "ho hum" to a lot of us. Pens showed their fellow athletes from across town and an occasional Michael Keaton, but for the most part, it was business as usual. Winning is our business and business is BOOMIN'!

I though last year was one of the most satisfying Championships to experience, but this seemed just as enjoyable and harder. Columbus(tough hitting pricks), Washington(The Dream Team, Ovie), Ottawa(Neutral zone boring trap, Karlsson) and Nashville(NHL darlings)! What a freakin' run! Going to be awhile to come down from this.

I was the best man at my best friend's wedding last night. I was drinking my Natty Boh cans with my Pens Coozie. I got to the hotel room with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd, and got to see the incredible ending. Way to go Pens. I couldn't be happier for that team and their City!

FYI there were a ton of hockey players at this wedding, and I was happy to rib them that their teams weren't playing for a championship. Caps fans are the most fun because it actually hurts them that the Caps can't beat the Pens. They wince and I laugh!

Tomlin is what he is at this point, but how about Sullivan? After just two years can probably be considered the best coach in Penguins' history and probably the best coach in the NHL. The perfect balance of strategy and emotion and it is a perfect fit for this team.

Or Crosby, Malkin, Letang or any other great player this franchise has like many fans want when they go two games without scoring.

The Penguins to the Capitals are just like the Patriots are to the Steelers. Tough when you have a team good enough to win titles only to have one with the best player (or quarterback) in the game to stop you.

Basketball football and baseball are ***** sports

Nick Bonino played with broken leg in Game 2

Bonino blocked a shot in the first period, broke his leg completely and then managed to play the last two periods as well. He could not play in the remainder of the series

"A little bit crazy, yeah," Bonino admitted. "The tibia was cracked all the way through. I think people assumed when I tried it, it was getting better, but it was getting worse. I just wanted to see if there was one chance to do it, we would try. Put a lot of medicine into it and wasn't able to push off like I wanted to."

That's a hockey player!

The Pens are situated to win ever more cups over the next few years. Good, young players to go along with some aging vets that are still at the top of their games. The Pens should be heavy favorites to repeat again next year and barring injuries, they could definitely make it a three-peat.
