2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

Wow. ******* awesome. The Caps have to be talking to themselves now.

Ahahaha. The Caps are just damned lucky not to be staring down a 3-0 deficit right now....

Someone was saying the Leafs are in the Caps heads but I think the Caps are in the Caps heads....

Nashville looks really good this year. My wife's brother in law is from TN and is fun to talk hockey with. I'll root for the Preds in the west

I hear you MTC, but as a hockey player, it pains me that all hockey is in a Pens thread. Besides we need more than 3 active threads in Other Sports ;)

Way to go Toronto. They are working hard. This matchup is a coin flip, as all 3 games have gone to OT. When you hit OT in the playoffs, it's always a coin flip!

The thing that has me just absolutely dumbfounded is the Blackhawks haven't scored yet in their series. Renne is absolutely stealing this series thus far...

This is true. The Leafs were up 2-0 in game 1. This series should be 3-0 leafs. They had their chances. I like where they are right now.

Rinne finally gives up a goal. 7 shutout periods and 2 minutes! That's astounding!!

Holy hell the Caps came to play. Looking to end this fairy tale right now.

The fairy tale is over all right. Leafs punk their *****! Smashed the **** out of Orpik a couple of time too.

Ovie better start looking for a new home in Vegas if they lose the series.

Flipped over to CNBC to watch the contest between the Bruins and Sens to see who can blow the most leads.

I looked too, it's like a farm tractor race compared to the superspeedway of the Leafs/Caps

Leafs are Pens-lite - they could be more trouble with the speed than the Caps

Leafs can put the Caps away. Caps were overrated heading in, and were the headline buzz. Shattenkirk hasn't lived up to the hype.

Let's review - shall we?

The Leafs fans are so damn cocky. They will shut up pretty quickly when WASH sweeps them. Gonna be ugly..

Loaf fans are pathetically predictable. You should easily get even money bets on the series with them now. Easy money.

IF the Pens get out of the first round, I don't see them beating the Caps this year. The Caps are different this year. They are better than last year. Sadly, the Pens are not. You wanna know who this Caps team reminds me of? The Penguins of last year. Only difference is this Caps team is better. They are fast, skilled and play physical. They can beat you 7-2 or 1-0, however you wanna play. As much as it pains me, this is likely their year.

And if their D doesn't impress you, no one's D is impressive. Shattenkirk, Alzner, Orpik, Carlson, Niskanen doesn't impress you? That is as good as there is in the NHL. ****, I thought they WAY overpaid for Orpik, but that guy has never played better.

I am pulling for the Pens, but I just don't see it. Too many injuries, and losing Letang is a huge blow. Who knows how long the walking wounded that are just now returning will hold up in the playoffs. Gonna be a short playoffs this year I fear.

Leafs lost a couple guys. The Craps will take care of them.

Mmmmmmm, that crow tastes yummy. Can I have a second helping, please?

Realistically, outside of TOR, who really gave them a chance and saw they would be up 2-1?

I was pretty high on them

Babcock gets the CS if Leafs eliminate the Caps! Think how fragile they would be if Leafs win first game! The pressure would skyrocket!

I am happy to be wrong. Pens are up 3-0 and the Caps are down 2-1. Tell me how that is a bad thing.

Your massive Caps dick sucking was hard to miss - how you live with it, I don't know

Yes. This post from early March was an oldie, but goodie. :-)

I don't even recognize this team - they won't make it out of the 1st rd the way they are going. Trade Fleury now, he's a curse.

I didn't say I was perfect - but I do know how to quote

How bout the Preds?

Up 3-0 over Chicago!

Yea yea. (Is that better??) :-)

Anyway, what I found most enjoyable about a fantastic night of competitive hockey all across the board, is the struggling by the two presumptive Stanley Cup final participants by 90+% of the pundits and talking heads. One on the verge of elimination, the other in a helluva dogfight.

Roenick actually had good things to say about Sid and the Pens - it's another wonder year

but I still don't trust Fleury

I think Bob and MAF are playing about the same. Flashes of brilliance, but leaving questionable goals in. Not great, but not terrible. The Pens are just more talented on offense. I don't have a problem with Fleury, as I'm thrilled we hung onto him. We do need him.

IF the Leafs pull this off, it will go down as one of the greatest playoff upsets in NHL history, and the Caps would be labeled the biggest playoff chokers with Ovechkin - who looks like ****, doesn't skate, just standing around looking to shoot

Fleury has the second lowest SV% of any goalie in the playoffs, ahead of only Bobrovsky.

The idea that he's been the savior of this team is a narrative that the Pittsburgh media wants to push and the product of CBJ taking a lot of perimeter shots.

But enough of my Fleury bashing - he's it for the duration, I think - rebounds and all

He reminds me of a squirrel. Very skittish dude.

It's all about our Young Legs! now - keep attacking, keep fighting for every puck - even Malkin has caught the fever- skating hard, not one turnover that I've seen, and his line is bringing the puck up nicely

You notice the offense really picked up when Kunitz went down - and we got the kids back
