2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

ugh, aaaaaaaaand Leafs had to blow another 3rd period lead

It's alright.
Washington is not that impressive.
Pens have speed, skill and better puck control/possession. Better play set up. Pens are the roid version of Toronto

All the pens have to do is play a little better on defense and I'm pretty sure they will prevail. The depth of offensive talent who can put the puck in the net will be the factor for the pens.

Business as usual for the Pens. 8 of 9 vs the Craps in the playoffs

Thursday it is

NHL: Capitals-Penguins starts Thursday.

West both start on Wed., East on Thursday.

I hope the Pens take the Caps seriously, at least more than most of you here are.

Pens will get it done. I just feel they(caps) are overrated. Calling it. Pens in 5. Escaped CBJ with minimal injuries. The team is clicking. Pens just needna guy who will he in Ovies face. Don't let him push around

Anywho. Rest up boys and let's show why our boys are the champs come thursday

I take nobody lightly. Pedal to the metal. I'm sure the Pens will have a little extra juice for such a big rival. This should be the biggest obstacle in the way of repeating.

The Caps are for real. They put together the talent they needed to be deep and go 3 lines, since the Pens beat them soundly with their 3rd line last year.

Though this matchup has Cap fans reeling. They can't stand the Pens, because the Pens own them. Much like Brady in the playoffs against Ben, they just can't seem to get past the demon of the Penguins.

The Pens know who they are playing, They are very familiar with them and their President trophies. They will be ready. TOR showed speed and WASH had trouble with it. If we keep #8 and #77 in check, they should be in good shape. CBJ was tough and they showed they can handle the physical play. WASH will try it, as well, bu they need to bounce off it and keep going. We should skate circles around their slow guys.

Don't forget, Sid and Malkin didn't do much against them last year - it was the HBK line that did all the scoring and won the series, needless to say, we don't have that now

Fleury is gonna have to win a couple on his own, and that scares me.

Fleury scares me the most. They will have to play better defense. There's just no way around that.

Ovie is banged up and his production is down. Oshie is the guy you have to mark

yep, couldn't agree more. Oshie is the go-to guy now. You still have to be aware of The Great Fake cherry picking for his slap shots, but they have to keep Oshie in check, as well. Some of our pesky WBS guys should be up to that challenge.

Oshie looked a bit banged up too. He blocked a shot yesterday that had him wobbling to the bench. Williams, Backstrom, and Wilson need to play lights out vs the Pens to stand a chance. Although the Pens do not have that HBK line this season, the Pens still bring pressure from all 4 lines. Plenty of talent and depth to create mismatches.

Toronto exposed the Caps weakness, and that was the utilization of speed. Like I said yesterday. The Pens are the steroid version of Toronto. Experienced, skilled, better puck management and a lot more game changers. The Pens just need a Kadri type guy

The Caps just won a series that went to OT 5 times

They have their issues too

We have to stay out of the penalty box. That's where they can hurt you.

Watching what TOR could and did do doesn't have me too worried. It will be a tough and hard fought series, but the Pens can take them. They have to be disciplined and stay away from the cute passing and just be relentless. I expect 6-5 games and 3-2 ones.

Our D didn't impress as much as I hoped for against the BJs. MAF doesn't have all he did last time he ran the cup. Just hoping that we can tighten that defense.

I think this is our achilles heal. If the game is in our end like it was in the OT for the Leafs, we won't do well either.

I'm hoping Sully and Co have been working on defending in their own end and getting the puck out. CBJ had a lot of time in our end and WASH will be no different. We have had time to prepare. I think we'll be good to go!

The D has been struggling all season. The Pens are what they are. I have confidence that they'll take it to Washington

INJ Update time

Wes Crosby ✔ @OtherNHLCrosby
Kunitz says he plans on being ready for Game 1. #Pens

Josh Getzoff ✔ @PensJG
Ron Hainsey arrives late on the ice to practice to stick taps. Just Hagelin & Murray absent now. #Pens

Pittsburgh Penguins ✔ @penguins
Coach Sullivan on Hagelin's status: "We're hopeful that we're going to have him. He skated today. He skated yesterday on his own."

Jonathan Bombulie ✔ @BombulieTrib
Sullivan: Kunitz and Ruhwedel are cleared for contact and will be game-time decisions at start of series.

Josh Getzoff ✔ @PensJG
#Pens HCMS: Matt Murray still hasn't skated.

Sucks with Murray out. But MAF's confidence seems to get higher each game. He's been taking some risks with his signature aggressive poke checking. Not sure how I feel about Kunitz coming back. The Pens can use a bit of a thud player, but the strength is speed
