What a game last night. Still in awe how the Pens rallied.
I know it's hard to overcome injuries to crucial players. Sid is huge. The absence of Letang's minutes showed as well.
But just as the norm all season---injuries. A lot of positive take aways despite Sid's absence
Much like the Caps outplaying the Pens in game 2. I thought the Pens out hustled the Caps in game 3. A waived off goal, a non call which should've been hooking as Cullen was going for a breakaway.
Powerplay--- I think the coaches and players will look at Holtby's glove side more often. After last nights effort. I am not throwing in the towel on this team just yet
hope he really is OK, has two days to shake it off. That will be a HUUUUUUGE boost if he returns on Wed. The roof may get blown off. Will pray to the hockey gods.
Supposedly the first look at the Kunitz goal was just to see if the puck crossed the line before the net came loose. Then upon Washington's challenge, they ruled goaltender interference. Pretty stupid that they don't look for everything they can on an initial review and, I guess, instead wait for a team to use a challenge. Seems weird to me.I still want to know what was reviewed on the Kunitz's goal that they they didn't see when it was challenged?
Obvious hooking on Cullen, not called. Ovechkin not getting called for the initial penalty is a head scratcher.
I hope all this BS lights the fire for tomorrow night. The best medicine is to go up 3-1. F them and their dirty play. It's no different than head hunting a defenseless WR to go for a kill shot.

Lets all chill out a little about the Sid/Ovie/Mats issue here...
For one its playoff hockey men...(if you dont like it...watch the Pirate game)...
and two my reliable sources are saying it is not head related at all...
Everybody wipe their vaginas and focus on Sid's four point night and a Pens Wednesday!
No vagina wiping here. And what is playoff hockey? Do they have some entire other set of rules for it? I do hope you're correct about Sid. He's the straw that stires the drink.
Forget the game, **** hockey. Only one thing matters now - taking out Ovechkin
Capitals' Ovechkin is real culprit in Crosby injury, and NHL must punish him
The NHL could — and should — throw the book at Ovechkin, who skated freely despite playing a big role in Crosby's injury.
Ovechkin was the reason Crosby only lasted three shifts in Game 3. He was the Capital most responsible for Crosby's injury.
He carelessly lifted his stick into Crosby's head, forcing the NHL's sturdiest skater to stagger into Niskanen. If Ovechkin hadn't gone that route, Crosby wouldn't have gone headfirst into a check.
Ovechkin, who never met a leap he wouldn't take, who holds high the stick he often swings at opponents, was the dirty-deed doer at PPG Paints Arena in Game 3.
Ovechkin, who can't beat Crosby on the ice, decided to remove him from it.
Makes you wonder what that closed-door meeting called by Capitals players was really about after their blowout defeat in Game 2, huh?

Well that's an easy fix. An eye for an eye.
Matt Niskanen will not be suspended for hit on Sidney Crosby
Matt Niskanen will not face any supplemental discipline for the NHL’s Department of Player Safety after cross-checking the Penguins’ Sidney Crosby in the face

If it was that easy. Ovarian is a big dude. The Pens biggest guy is Sestito? Maybe Cole? Need a Asham type player or a Chara type. The Pens are grown men and led by a great coach in Sullivan. They'll get everything situated and back to winning come Wednesday. I'm that confident in this team. The Pens organization from Wheeling/WBS to Pitt does a good job at developing guys who are battle ready
Series over, playoffs over, career over
Coach Sullivan: "Sid has been diagnosed with a concussion. He will be out for tomorrow's game. We will evaluate him from there."
Coach Sullivan: "Conor Sheary has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be going through the process as well."
