2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

OIL clobber the Ducks!.......... that's one Game 7 coming up

PPG better be rockin tonight! Time to put the Craps to bed. They won't go quietly, but the Pens need play solid tonight.

Looking forward to the answer from Saturday night.

The NHL will bring out their best refs to make sure there is a game 7... Hopefully the Pens stick it to them in Game 6 like last year.

Daley is OUT

Pittsburgh Penguins ✔ @penguins
Coach Sullivan: "Dumoulin is a maintenance day. He will play tonight. Daley will be out with a lower-body injury. His status is day-to-day."

So Ruhwedel or Streit?

who is a less of a liability?

It seemed to me that the Pens were in control until the third when they pretty much took the rest of the night off. If you look at it from a strictly entertainment revenue point of view, what are the chances the Pens management wanted a game 6 back home? No doubt the place would be packed.....Could a team get away with something like that without someone spilling the beans? I doubt they slacked off intentionally (and hope they didn't) but in this day and age where money trumps everything who knows....

This isn't the corrupt WWE NFL with their fixed outcomes and rigged refs!

Hahahahahahahaha

You don't mess with this Caps team. You finish them and don't give another inch. They pull tonight out and the roof will come off in DC on Wednesday. MAF needs to steal one more. He has to be spectacular again. WASH will be coming full throttle to go home tied. I just don't see the Pens letting off the gas for money.

Don't forget about the non-standard playoff schedules...

See you are approaching my question with your heart and from a non-cynical standpoint. :) From a purely business minded point of view, did Mario and the gang want a game 6? Again I'm hoping from a fans point of view that they wanted to keep their foot on the gas, but they just couldn't. For a few minutes there in the 2nd I thought the Caps were just going through the motions and were ready to go home. At that point I was hoping we could have gotten a couple insurance goals but they never came.

I'd be pissed if they tanked the game for revenue. That's why I can't look at it any other way. The potential consequences of letting WASH hang around in this series could be damaging. I just can't fathom of wanting an additional PO game with them when rest and healing is so valuable this point of the run. That's just me though. Sorry.

If they come out and totally squash the hell out of them and pepper Holtby on the glove side all night then you have to wonder--why didn't they do that on Saturday? Maybe they simply didn't have it in the tank or are not capable of doing it on a consistent basis. I do have to wonder how they can demonstrate the ability to outright dominate at times and other times they giving up unforced errors like they want the other team to stay in the game....If we find out years from now that these games are scripted, I'll be totally pissed and give up any thought of ever buying NHL Center Ice---Maybe :)

But seriously I hope we crush the hell out of them early, we can go into cruise control the rest of the game and break out the goon squad to rough somebody up but I wouldn't be surprised if its another nail biter OT game just like last year...

The Pens will have at least 3 more home playoff games if they win this series. I doubt they would have risked those three games for one more home game with the Caps. I think the simple answer is the Caps were fighting for their playoff lives in the 3rd and the Pens could not match the intensity due to the multiple game lead.

Gotta squeeze one one more good game out of Fleury, that's all

He's been the MVP of this playoff run by a long shot

Yes lets end this BS tonight. Enough is enough. Jump out to an early lead and do not let up. I expect Crosby to play better and hopefully Malkin too.

The entire team can play better than they have in any game so far in the series.

The Pens have been inconsistent season long. The team can turn up a gear when needed.

I wouldn't be surprised from a business/money standpoint. I think any major sports league is guilty of that. The nhl's inconsistent officiating is what drives away the casual fan. When you have skilled players like Crosby, McDavid, Matthews, Eichel. You'd expect the league/officiating to kinda crack down on the goon fest. Some of the stuff Tom Wislon has pulled is borderline ejection imo, but you go back and see this guy is trying to help his team win any which way he can.

From a strategic/skill standpoint regarding this series --- the Pens have better depth, better skill and a ton more speed. They could've easily put this series away. But realistically --- coming off a cup win 82 games + 16 playoff games, short offseason, and a grueling 2017 playoff run. I think the Pens are tired. I'd honestly just be content knocking out the Caps. The guys deserve a rest, and they laid their bodies literally on the line for a win. As a fan, damn proud of the season. If they do end up overcoming this fatigue and win Lord Stanley again. They get a pass
in my book for a mediocre 2017-2018 season

I do think the Pens have generated enough chances offensively. Bonino and Kunhackle just took bad shots on saturday. If the defense can tighten up a bit and clear pucks to center ice. The Pens win.

I think Daley out is a blessing. Ruhwedal or Streit should be an improvement. No knock on Daley. He was solid vs CBJ.
I think his injury flared up and caused him to regress. In that case you put a healthy body in his spot

True hockey novice here. So, I may be way off base. But, from what I saw, if all else plays out the same or similar to last game, a win tonight comes down to three simple letters ... SID. If he comes out and plays the way he's capable of ... creating scoring chances; if not scoring himself, playing close to the net and requiring that his linemates meet his level of effort, it's a Pens win.
Of course we'd all like to see them executing that fast, chip and chase style of play that they used so well last season. However, we've only seen that sporadically this year and I'm wondering if they're not able to generate it for a majority of a game this year for some reason. In any event, I think Sid comes out fired up and pushes/drags this team to a win tonight!
