2016 Pirates thread

Signing Happ (now 9-3) and keeping Walker would have fixed this season, but still we would have only ended up with
a wild card spot the way the Cubs have gone so far.

Actually have won five in a row,on the road. Bullpen went awesome with 34 scoreless innings. Cross fingers for the rest of this week, and maybe Cervelli, Cole, Taillon and Stewart are back.....
 
Hopefully Jung Ho doesn't need to rape anyone.. bucs leading STL again tonight.
 
Glasnow being called up to pitch against Cards tomorrow. Rotation is getting a makeover.

apparently she met him at a hookup site, one where the woman comes to/contacts the man....

and then she goes to a hotel with Kang. Looking at all angles she is at-least guilty of being a dumbass if she didn't think sex would take place.

This to me stinks of a setup.
 
Yeah its called Bumble. Lots of professional cheerleaders, female athletes, and college athletes are on there.

Well the loss today hurts. Figured they were prob due for it though. Wainwright is always their kryptonite.

HAVE to take 2/3 from Chicago. Can't lose another series to them.
 
New first baseman arriving this evening, Josh Bell has been promoted from Indy.
 
Such a big win last night from a pitcher that absolutely dominates them.
 
Don't shovel dirt on them yet..........

Hard to believe after the disaster that June was they would be in the position at the All Star Break. Get Cervelli and Cole back and make a second half run!

He's going back down I believe. He basically should be Freddie Freeman who switch hits. Now if his power numbers actually do improve, and 13 homers in AAA was a good sign, he literally could be one of the best players in the league.
 
Can someone please explain to me now why they feel the Niese for Walker trade was such a good deal?

Niese sucks donkey balls.

I knew that the minute they announced the trade, that it was a bad one.

5 earned runs in 4 innings. 20 gopher balls allowed this year. He just stinks.
 
He sucks. Can't believe they couldnt get anything better for Walker.

I hate to say it but I automatically penciled in a L the other night when I seen he was starting. We were just lucky he only gave up 5 in 4 innings. It seemed like he had runners in scoring position with 1 out or less every inning.

Still cant complain considering the season was all but lost 3 weeks ago.

The Cubbies have some serious issues with defense and if I were an opposing team I would try to steal a base every time I got someone on. Almost guaranteed to get to 3rd the way their catcher air mails the ball lol.
 
my guess would be that everyone knew that we were wanting to move Walker, or possibly would have non-tendered him. He's a FA after this season so we basically got about as good as we could for him. Probably non-tendering him and allocating Niese's dollars elsewhere would have been ideal. We had been pretty good at fixing guys so maybe they thought they could fix Niese?

If we signed Happ and kept Walker, we would have the best team in baseball.
 
We have other guys that are just as good/better than walker this season. Cutch is the guy that's stinking up the place on offense. Freese/Kang/Harrison/Mercer/Rodriguez all have as much WAR as walker or more. All of them are paid less, and sometimes significantly less, than Walker is this season.

That's all fine and dandy, but the return on Walker was terrible. Niese had sucked in New York for years. I follow the Mets also (Mrs. hook is from Long Island), and what I saw if him there was not impressive.. He has ALWAYS given up tons of homers. Serage is good, but he is not a miracle worker.

It was just a dumb trade.

But it's also kinda like saying that the Steelers were fine without Le'veon Bell last season. Yeah, the offense was pretty good without him in the lineup, but it would have been that much better with him.
