2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Watching a little of the Caps and Canes game tonight. Carolina is hanging in there and are up 3-0. I didn't see either but apparently Ovechkin knocked out one of the Hurricanes in a fight and Wilson checked/boarded one of the Canes so hard he will not return tonight. Same old ****. Can't wait for both of them to get what's coming to them one of these days. Go Canes!

I watched Boston and the Loafs. Man, Mitch Marner is a player. Blocked two shots at the end to seal it. Kid is a player. Hope the Pens can find a guy like that in the draft. He has skill to score, and works hard in all three zones. I’d take him over Matthews or Tavares.

Now the Trashville game is on. To me, they are Bengals of the NHL. Never won ****, but their fans never shut up.

Carolina came out chippy. They weren't afraid to rough up the Caps big names.
I watched the Car/Was game last night and Vgk/Sj on sunday.
 
Pens skipped practice after yesterday's meeting. They should be well rested. Whatever they have left will be coming out tonight, no way they want to be eliminated on home ice. Probably win tonight and lose in NY. After that I'll be in anyone but the craps mode.


I'm still stunned how horrible the crowd was Sunday. I realize I'm a bit over the top as a Pens fan but these golf clapping, leave early, so called fans don't appreciate what they have had. 13 Straight years of being in the playoffs, 5 Cups, two back to backs, two era's of generation talents. We'll be there tonight, loud and supporting..
 
If the Pens have any chance, they may have to play rope-a-dope and defense-first tonight. They can't play a run & gun style to try to keep up with their speed. Their transition off turnovers are killing us. Have to keep the mistakes to a bare minimium and stay out of the penalty box. Saying all that, I will be shocked if the brooms don't come out tonight. They will not change their stripes and play a different game. We'll see. . . still love my Pens.

I did not see the game on TV but it sounded like the crowd was non existent except for a couple times. Likely most were not real fans and just in town for something else or corporate fans. Need to cut ticket prices to bring the rowdies back in. One thing is for sure the crowd down in Carolina was raucous as hell last night.

Hoping for the best tonight. Will enjoy the game whichever way it goes. It is sad to see how they have performed of late and I know there is no way you can sit Malkin in these games but it sure seemed like the team played a lot better 3-4 weeks ago when he and Letang were injured. Seems like there was more of a team mentality going on.

I'd be really disappointed in them if they did that. At least play for the people who shelled out good money to see them perform to the very best of your ability.

The Isles tie it right up in about a minute. Horrible defense again.
 
Gosh this team defense is just atrocious so stupid.......I sure hope they get a real defenseman and get rid of Letang

Just to add to that. Murray is beat top glove side... it's like a broken record. He needs to get better or they'll never win another cup with him.
 
Letang has talent, but no brain I have never been a fan of his. Of course the whole team is not too good at pinching so is that coaching or players?
 
That should be the game. 2-1 Isles. Pens look like they have nothing left. The defense can't figure out which man to cover and the offense can't even get a shot off. This team looks nothing like the team of 2 years ago. Pathetic display.

These past two seasons have been a broken record.
The roster is butchered with no clear identity. Sullivan is working with dull tools.
