2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Wow. These guys are stinking up the playoffs. Way to look like hammered *** on national TV. I guess nobody gives a ****. That's the vibe I get.

Sloppy defensive play and a sub .900 save percentage isn't going to get it done. Frustrating because it's not a talent thing - just stupid mental mistakes.

Looked to me like Jake ran out of room and passed the puck late. That is another thing that drives me nuts about this team. They blow way to many scoring chances and against a defensive team like the Isle you cant do that.
 
Listening to the game while washing window screens. Doesn't sound as bad as you all describe but I guess the home team announcers can't really say they are playing like ****. :). Mike Lange might but he's still recovering from pneumonia

I think some of it is talent. Rutherford got rid of all his physical players. This is the playoffs. You aren't going to finesse your way through. The 2 cup winning teams had players like Cole, Bonino, and even Kuhnhackl who is playing for the Isles. And that doesn't count players like Reeves they had and also gave away even though he wasn't here for the cup years. Bad decisions.
 
Well I think the last 2 years of head scratching trades have officially dismantled what they had built. It's just a team loaded with gifted scorers and nothing else. Oh well. It is what it is.

I think after this is all said and done the Pens better seriously think about moving some big names and getting younger for the future.

The win now window is officially closed.
 
all of their mistakes are magnified in this series. They can't get out of their own way or pass or keep a lead or pass or , , ,
 
Notice how everything in front of the net is seriously contested by the Isle's and the Pens let it wide open.

The slide started when they traded for Brassard. That team was rolling, they picked up Brassard and they haven’t been the same since.

Yep. Before that trade, they had the pieces for this seasons glaring weakness.
Gritty 3rd and 4th lines, but capable of scoring.

Physical and simple defense.
Both Reaves and Oleksiak to put a stop to any shenanigans.


The Pens have always had a hard on for fancy globetrotter **** though.
Which is fine for the top 2 lines. But the bottom lines are duct taped together.
