This has been an extremely frustrating season. They can't get anything going.
 
And we lose because of a shorthanded goal to start the 3rd. This is turning into a crappy sports weekend so far. The Steelers better beat some *** Sunday night.

That was the most careless effort I saw with an extra attacker.
Pearson is carrying Malkin's line. Malkin is very lazy of late

I have no idea what direction this team is heading anymore. Just small spurts of good things and a lot of wtf is going on...oh well..haha...next

They are lacking some physical play.
The hockey skill is there, but we have no presence in front of the goalie.
Aside from Reese, no real hitters.

It's like this team is used to just half assing in the early part of the season before they get it in gear somewhat. This is two season of it now,so it's a lousy trend. Geno needs to get his head out of his arse. He's too talented and capable for this.
 
I don't know about Malkin...The guy seems to be a waste of talent. Maybe he's tired of playing second fiddle and wants to go play somewhere else. If thats the case I imagine we could probably use him to get some young talent on this team. You have to admit, it's getting pretty old and Sid can't do it all.

I think they get discouraged would be my bet.
They looked good in the 2nd period. Again no goals to show for.

We are the Crosby led WBS Pens right now

Ship him to the Panthers. He loves to vacation in FL.
Get a few of their grinders in return. I always forget that Pittsburgh born dude who plays for FL. But he can game
 
I think Geno of all the core guys needs to go already.
That or maybe our window as contenders is closed. These guys had a helluva run career wise. We're at the downhill trend now
 
The Pens aren't built to play physical hockey. We have only one guy who will drop the gloves. When it turns 'chippy", Letang and Malkin can't handle it and the dumbfuckery begins. The 3 stupid penalties prove it. I thought ZAR finally showed he has a pair but it isn't enough. Opposing teams don't take Horny seriously because he never fights, .

Then the damn hesitation to build the passing game. Get the puck on the net and good things will happen.

Giving up another short handed goal is pathetic.

I've vented. Home again Tuesday and Thursday and we have tickets. Lets Go Pens !

Sadly this is becoming more true by the game. The team doesn't have the overwhelming speed anymore.Without STRONG goal tending it's over. I won't toss in the towel just yet. I'll wait a couple of more weeks. GMJR needs to work some magic and if he can pull something out of his hat we may limp into the playoffs.
 
I got to actually see the Colorado game. Didn't see this one last night. The Pens just don't have the horses anymore. Seems lately, if Sid ain't lighting it up, the team really has no chance. It is disappointing, to say the least. I think Geno is the most expendable "big name" for a trade, but if GMJR does that they will run him out of town on a rail.

I don't see things improving much. No real tradeable assets, the cupboard is bare in WBS, and teams around the Pens have just gotten better.

It may be time to blow it up and move pieces for whatever you can get. Lots of salary that can be moved. I would try to move Letang, Maatta and Malkin. Get what you can, maybe some young guys that are hungry, cheaper and maybe turn into something.

I won't hold my breath though.
