2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Good to see ZAR and Ruhwedel back on the ice.

No turnovers or mindless penalties by Geno tonight. One of his better games in awhile
 
The 2nd and 3rd period were played very well. Murray had to stand on his head but he got the job done. That save on McGod was great. Murray baited him then gave him nothing to shoot at but a glove.
 
The Pens had a TON of great chances in this one. Some great saves, some near misses, but they earned more than three goals, I thought.

I still don't like Jack Johnson in Pens sweater. Wish they could unhitch that albatross.

JJ got praise from Sully and some of the morning shows this morning for his solid and physical play. He hasn't been standing out as a liability lately.

Murray was solid again. McDavid is dangerous when he's on the ice, but so is the ol' dog known as Sid! He was pretty damn god last night.
 
Honestly, I think Johnson is starting to play better. I really feel that he will continue to improve without Maatta, who is a detriment. And what's up with Kessel? He's gone full on retard as of late.
 
Ruhwedel looked reborn last night. He played with a high level of intensity. No bad turnovers and showed he does a have decent shot from the point. He's an UFA at the end of the year and well knows he needs to produce to make more than league minimum.


I thought it was a solid win. Good momentum carrying into the two day games this weekend. Pens better keep the intensity or they are going to wind up on the outside. It's do or die time !

Ruhwedal looked pretty damn good.
The oilers had to mug him to negate his presence. Mcdavid got away with a few holds and the like on him.

I think Clark Donatelli's coaching down in WBS is being overlooked.
Ruhwedal has come back strong. Teddy Blueger has come up to speed as well as ZAR and even Wilson.

I'm not a JJ fan.
Even his solid games, he's real slow of foot.

He's getting better at backchecks, but I still feel for our goalie.
JJ still has a habit of lighting a guy up into our goalie
 
Never could get used to day games. Never feels right. Oh well, hockey at lunch, I'll adapt. Weird weekend.
 
You have to wonder if this game will be played in it's entirely in our end.
 
Good to see Shultz up to speed.
Cullen's had a few good looks as well. Bank in on those. We should be up 3-1.

If not for Murray we could be down 4-1 at that.
 
Like I said before this team is going to struggle to make the playoffs. Even if they get in they won't last long IMHO. 5 goals in 2 periods? I know Calgary is a good team but you're at home and this is their 4th road game. They should be tired NOT you. Carolina is just one point behind us and this is the game you guys come up with?

Ayep. Pathetic effort today
 
Malkin scores to make it 5-4. Maybe too late but at least they came to life a little. This team struggles to play 3 full periods.
 
Pens woke up too late for sure.
Fun 3rd period. Sid had two great chances for the last hurrah with an extra attacker.
He normally hits those pucks out of the air and just missed
 
Too bad they couldn't tie it up. But you can't expect a team to win to many games losing 5-2 going into the 3rd. They should have been awake to start with then you don't have this issue. Maybe this will get Malkin going.
