2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

New coach time?
 
You guys bitching about the game last night should have paid money for it. Wife and I are still pissed off. The only fun came at the scum at the end. My thoughts for what they are worth.

When you have to resort to Sid fighting. You have a problem. Pearson did step up against Kane and he deserves serious ice cred for that.

Continued poor special team play. Lousy power play and giving up yet another shorty. I'm out of excuses on this.

Kessel- I get struggling to put the puck in the net but...… He could try forechecking on rare occasion, maybe win a puck battle. he had a few shots last night but there were weak. He can stick the ironman streak up his ***. He needs to sit and NOW.

Blueger- No idea why he wasn't in the line up. He has shown a little toughness and even scored some points. Is he the next Sprong for Sully ?


We had awesome seats and it was fun to hear Sully scream "******* *******" at the linesman. Wish I could have made out the rest of what he said.

Could explain why Sully got ejected.


The team is not tough.
Rutherford butchered the roster.

There's talent but not pieced together.

I do think this is the problem. He made great moves to win the Cups, but has been trying to get a spark or throwing anything at the trade wall to see what sticks and the well is dry. He made some bad trades and I blame Sully, as well. He seems hard-headed. I would have done anything to keep Cole. They moved Reeves to get Brassard. Why? The team was playing pretty good last year until that trade happened and thave degressed. Sprong looks good in Anaheim, but could get a hat here. Doesn't make sense.

I don't understand it either. They were playing well last year before the trade. For some reason Sully doesn't like those type of defense men. I would love to have kept Cole and Reeves. It makes no sense to me either.

Losing Cole and not to mention the entire way he was handled was a real blunder. Trading Reaves when he was a great locker room fit yet another. Reaves had fun with Kessel and what a surprise Kessel produced. Hagelin was buddies with Horny and surprise, Horny hasn't produced since the trade. GM JR blew the chemistry last year and continued this year. Just way too many consistencies in this pattern.

I loved seeing Brassard come here. Shame it didn't work. Look back at what happened with Carolina after the won the cup, same pattern. My head hurts when I think about this stuff.

A lot of the coaches who said Reaves couldn't play?
The guy just forechecked and was part of a sweet pass resulting in a goal.

That guy was a perfect fit for this team. Cole too. All of the trades from that point on have been a big HUH..wtf..why?

If Dumoulin and/or Letang are out for any length of time, the dwindling playoff chances just got a lot smaller.
 
Man the ice is ****.It looks like they're playing in sand. Nice goal by Sid. Garbage that was a 4 on 4 after that hit. For crying out loud don't lower down to NFL **** application of the rules.

I think he'll be ok down the line.


Letang idk. He takes a lot of minutes
 
Refs are going to lose control of this game if they don't start penalizing the dirty hits.
 
Terribly officiated game. Bullshit call on Johnson and no calls on Philly for their bullshit.
