2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

yeaaaaaa, true, but the Wings have who again? Six in a row and they smacked the Pens with the majority of their stars. I was expecting the Pens to be up for this game to Moonwalk right into the PO, but DET toyed with them. It's one game and I believe they will be fine. They need to get healthy, though. Win tomorrow night and it will be forgotten.

Like I said before the game watching Detroit the other night I knew wasn't going to be a gimme. And now they have to turn around and play them again. They absolutely positively HAVE to get Letang and Malkin back and they both have to be healthy and contribute for this team to be anything in the playoffs other than a first or second round duck.

Edit Oh ya forgot about Dumo.....Need him too!

We both knew it wasn't going to be a gimmie game, but they ran into a hot team and Howard looked good(lucky), too. It wouldn't shock me if DET takes the game tomorrow night. PGH teams don't like to make things easy, ya know? It will go down to the NYR game.

The Pens certainly should have beaten them, Red Wing full line up included. Give the youngsters fighting for jobs a taste of winning and they get hard to play against. I still don't have high expectations for the Pens in the playoffs. Mostly because of games like last night repeated over the season. My point was not to make excuses but the bad play was something that needed buried.

I'm good either way. I still have zero expectations. They remind me of the Steelers this year. Lose to sub 500 teams.

They are down 1-0 in the first to Detroit. Pens had an early PP and couldn't score. Then the Wings had a PP and scored. Looks too easy. The Pens are very lethargic. They don't hit much and they don't do the hard work. If this is their playoff push they won't be in the playoffs long.

Finally got some life. 2-1 Pens after Kessel gets a PP goal.

I think it's safe for my superstitious *** to be around these parts.
If the Pens kill this penalty, I like our chances to finish off this game

McCann came close to scoring a short handed goal

All right! Great game! Looking forward to the playoffs!

Anyone know what happened to Mike Lange? He's been MIA the last few home games

13 consecutive post season appearances.
Good job guys.

Expectations are low this season for the playoffs. But this 2018/2019 group exceeded expectations with the way they started early on in the season.

No idea what happened to him.
Maybe he's sick.

Well the flip side of last game 4-1 loss to a 4-1win. Phil gets 2. That's good juju.

I hope they close it out with another W Saturday.

I liked their effort after the first 10 minutes. I still see them being at best a 2nd round out. Still in the playoffs anything can happen.

101 pts - Islanders at Caps
99 pts - Pens vs Rags
97 pts - canes @ Philly

Not sure of tie breakers but an interesting Saturday. Win and at least get Ises

I just don’t know the scenario of who gets home ice if the Penguins and Islanders tie. Also if somehow the Rangers win, who will get the Capitals with the Carolina tiebreaker.

I think the Caps will win and want to go want to the playoffs hot, as long as Pens don’t Tomlin the Rangers; that series is set with tie breaker deciding hone ice. Flyers, **** the Flyers, **** the bed against any team that is not the Penguins. Pens win and that game means nothing

I believe the first tie-breaker is ROW (Regular and Overtime Wins). There is no scenario where the Pens win that tie breaker, as the Isles have 47 wins and the Pens have 44. Also, if the Pens lose to the Rags, and Carolina wins it's final game to create a tie in points, the Pens would drop to the first wild card and face the Caps. Pens win, and they face the Isles. The Pens cannot get home ice for the first round.

I don't really want the Craps in the first round. WASH is going to sit a lot of players tomorrow and NYI should beat them. The Pens just need to take care of business against the Rags amd get ready for the Isles.

Tied at 1 at the end of the first.

Looks like another shorthanded goal is going to stick us playing Washington in round 1. So many chances.

Terrible defense on the PP... gave up another shorthanded goal. Losing now 3-2.
