Its a long season but I'm still not sure if the leaders on this team are all that hungry for another championship. If they turned it on during the playoffs last year then yeah I can see where they just coasted through the year and then play hard in the playoffs but that didn't happen. Will be interesting to see what happens, but I imagine we will see a repeat of last year where we'll see duds like last night, then some games where they look like the dominant team in the league that nobody should beat. Very little in between. Is that a lack of player leadership, coaching, a combination of both? I'd say the latter but that's just what I see and hear from our TV room. Who knows what's actually going on with that organization.

Last night it wouldn't have mattered. The Pens were too busy turning the puck over and defending in their own end for long stretches to mount many serious threats.

I don't get it. How do they go the past 2 years and not see the issues on film? Those blind behind the back passes are just stupid. They either clear the puck from the offensive zone or they give the other team an odd man rush. They don't even have a style to them. They are not hard to play against. Just wait your turn and the pens will give you odd man rushes and PPs galore.

None of the recent replacements have done anything, Kessel was really happy to go play for Tocchet, maybe its time for another coaching change.

Something isn't right with this team. I'm not sure exactly what it is but this is the 3rd year this team has looked like this. Murray is an ok goalie but he is going to let in a few softies. This team is a mistake waiting to happen.

This is a team that's tired of the coach and will play lazy until they get a new one. We've seen this story before...Oh, and I don't think Rutherford has assembled a good team either.

It's weird how hockey head coaches fizzle out fast. They won 2 cups with this guy. Now Disco Dan went poof real fast after their cup win. The year before the hit the final as well.

When they drop,they really drop fast.

That game on Thursday might have been the worst game I have ever seen from Sid. No hustle, no fire, no effort, nothing. Not sure if his foot was still bothering him or what, but your best player HAS to be better than that, or the Pens are going absolutely nowhere.
