2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

I know it's preseason when all of our goals scored are people i don't know.

Gotta follow WBS some. New coach/GM. Excited for their development cause the new guy won with the Canes farm team last season, and seems to develop guys to be NHL ready.

Pens still have a lot of speed to utilize down at the WBS level. All that’s missing really is a couple of tough guys

WBS should be fun to follow this year. Much better overall talent than last year. I'm looking forward to seeing the final rosters all the way down to Wheeling. Too early to tell where Larmi falls be he will be a blast to watch.

Pretty impressive for pre season.
We’re looking fast, which is promising.

Ok,who the heck is Nathan Lagare?

3rd round pick. Some draft ratings had him as a late 1st rounder. The rap on him was his skating/change of direction was in need of development. At 18 he already has an NHL shot. The other intangible is he great friends with Sam Poulin the Pens 1st rounder. Both kids are power forwards. Both guys need a year or two of development in my opinion. We have rushed prospects before and rarely got the result. Reading up on these guys around draft time their character and work ethic stood out. What I can't wait to see is their progression this time next year.

Oh ok, so he’s the friend of Poulin. I think both guys will be solid Pens.
Right now, our franchise seems to have good team chemistry in the making.

We don’t have Sids or Genos replacement though.
Those generational talents are hard to come by in any sport.

The depth at WBS will look better than it has in years. I think we have Guerin to thank for that. Not to mention upgrading the coach. Replacing generational talent is going to take a couple of horrible seasons and a little luck.

They played Jarry the whole distance. He just isn't DeSmith. Made some great saves, but leaves the net open a lot.

Brutal night in Pitt sports.

I like Jarry's style, he's aggressive and can play the puck. Bad news is he is prone to being out of position. I would have thought that would have been coached out of him by now.

What a **** day for Pittsburgh sports. Fortunately the Pens are still in preseason. Today I learned that it's not easy to watch hockey and football at the same time.

I like that Marino kid. Tall, strong on the puck.
Riikola looks hesitant to shoot this year. He has a nasty one timer. Thought he would’ve ripped one off towards the end of the 3rd period.

It's hard to watch really bad football. I have high hopes for the hockey season. At least a lot of times you don't know if your team is cup winning caliber until late in the year. The Steelers? We already know they are not hoisting any trophies this year. That's a ****** realization 3 games in.

I would like to see Marino hit the gym. He gets pushed around, especially in front of the next. I really like his potential. Riikola frustrates me. I see flashes of every part of the skillset but no consistency. He's had a year to figure out the NHL rinks. I like Joseph, another guy that needs to bulk up.

It's a luxury to have 3 guys that you could add to the roster. Maybe not this year but next year I bet all three are in the NHL.

I'm unusually optimistic about the Pens at this point. Sure, there are the usual questions but without seeing the full roster in action. GMJR still needs to clear cap space this week.

Steelers ? I'm disappointed to say the least. They are really the only NFL I watch. I'm glad the circus is over but the Ringmaster is still there.

Nice practice game win over the redwings this evening 4-2. I see the big boys getting on the score sheet. I am actually looking forward to watching a lot of hockey this year since I'll have center ice.

Good win and should build some confidence especially with Crosby and Letang getting their first ice time of the year. I was disappointed that Galchenyuk was nursing a lower body injury. Chucky is going to be a key this year. The puzzler is that Kahun really hasn't shown much. We something from him.

Galchenyuk’s off ice work ethic is legit. Hope his injury is nothing too serious.
This guy should be promising paired with Malkin.

I think Kahun will move down in the ahl for a conditioning stint soon.
He needs more confidence.

First game I've watched this pre-season. Good game. I'm still worried about goal tending.

I hope Kahun picks it up. They are talking about him on the 3rd or 4th line, if he stays up here at all.

Chucky with Malkin looks like a done deal. I've read a ton of comments about their chemistry. I think Malkin believes he has something to prove this year, he has said as much. I belive he is going to have an unbelievable year. Chucky has a great skillset. The two could be unreal.

Back to Kahun. I saw some stuff on his conditioning and it looked good. I think he is struggling with change, new city, new team. All the skills are there, just hoping he isn't Simon 2.0. We should see pretty much the season opening roster on Saturday.

GMJR still has a move to make for Cap, let's hope it is a smart one. Way too many rumors

I hope he can put it together. His Hawk's history paints him as better than a bottom six. Although right now, he is playing like a bottom six.

I have yet to see any of the pre-season games, which is highly unusual for me, so when they play BUF, it's all going to be all new to me. You are right about his Hawks time, there was a reason why we traded for him. He had flashes there and I do think he'll be OK. Just needs to settle in.

Preseason is over and on to the real deal on Thursday. Both Rust and Sid were hurt today. Sid took a shot to the foot and Rust one to the back of his hand. Sid was seen walking after the game with no boot or crutches. No comments were made on Rust.

Marino looked really good again. He wasn't pushed off the puck like he had been. Chucky didn't play be he skated as part of the morning. I think they are missing Kessel on the power play but with Chucky not playing, it's just a gut reaction. There is a lot of potential to the line up. I can't wait to see what develops.
