30 In House Visits

Real interest in CBs, this might be the year we get a good one again. It's been Sutton, wille gay and b mac only in a couple of decades.
Maybe with the 8 visits so far. Corner is deep and they might wait until 80 or 120 and still get one of them.

Yeah if hopefully only IF one of those top CBs aren't there at 17, or Broderick Jones is there, then you have to take him and wait to take CB

Steelers have EDGE Robert Beal Jr. in for a visit in-house. Original post has been updated to reflect.

Steelers have 3 in-house visits today, Reed and Scott were previously announced, but QB Jaren Hall/BYU is a new announcement. Original post has been updated to reflect.

I'd be pretty happy with Reed or Mingo in the middle rounds. Mingo could go even higher because of his size. Hall is an interesting late-round QB option.

Steelers have WR Bryce Ford Wheaton/WVU (local visit) and DL Karl Brooks/Bowling Green are in for a visit today, and I don't believe either were previously reported. Original post has been updated to reflect.

Steelers had OLB Felix Anudeke Uzomah/Kansas St and WR Cedric Tillman/Tenn in for a visit on Friday. Neither were previously reported, so they are the last two that complete their list of 30 visitors. Original post has been updated and finalized

Below are the In-House 30 visits. I also italicized some (not all) pro day visit prospects with Tomlin/Khan/Weidl and put an * next to the dinners.

Quarterback - all late-round prospects
Stetson Bennett
Jaren Hall
Clayton Tune

Wide Receiver - a lot of prospects valued in rounds 2-4 here
Bryce Ford-Wheaton
Charlie Jones
Xavier Hutchinson
Jonathan Mingo
Jayden Reed
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Cedric Tillman
Parker Washington

Tight End - no real focus and unlikely a choice unless there's tremendous value
Luke Schoonmaker
Brenton Strange
Darnell Washington

Offensive Tackle - They spent a lot of time with D. Jones, sleeper pick at 1.17, would not surprise me at all with 2.32
Anton Harrison
Broderick Jones
*Dawand Jones
*Paris Johnson
Darnell Wright

Interior Offensive Line - a lot of center capable players here
Steve Avila
Cody Mauch
Olu Oluwatimi
John Michael Schmitz
O'Cyrus Torrence
*Luke Wypler
Chandler Zavala

Defensive Line - Wide range of end and interior prospects anywhere from the first through fourth rounds.
Keeanu Benton
Bryan Bresee
Karl Brooks
Jalen Carter
Mike Morris
*Mazi Smith

Siaki Ika
Keion White

Edge - Edge is definitely a focus, again with day 1 and 2 prospects
Robert Beal
*Zach Harrison
*Will McDonald
*Myles Murphy
Nolan Smith

Tuli Tuipulotu
Felix Anudike-Uzomah
Lukas Van Ness

Inside Linebacker - not much attention given to this position
Jack Campbell
*Trenton Simpson
Henry To'oTo'o

Cornerback - mostly 1st or 2nd round guys, but mid rounders as well. May double dip at the position. On the surface it looks like they may want CB in 1, OT at 2.32.
Deonte Banks
Julius Brents
Christian Gonzalez
*Riley Moss
Joey Porter Jr.
Kelee Ringo
Darius Rush
Tyrique Stevenson
DJ Turner

Safety - not much focus on this position and I think Branch would be more in the mold of a slot corner.
Jordan Battle
Brian Branch
Ji'Ayir Brown

Tanner Ingle
Daniel Scott

So while it was assumed the Steelers 30 visits were over with, apparently not, as the Steelers had OT Broderick Jones/Georgia and DL Bryan Bresee/Clemson in for visit. I'll list the unconfirmed visits separately (also in the original post), and it must mean 2 of them got cancelled or misreported

Unconfirmed but announced scheduled visits:

QB Clayton Tune/Houston
OT Dawand Jones/Ohio St
DT Gervon Dexter/Florida
CB Kelee Ringo/Georgia
CB Emmanuel Forbes/Miss St

So 2 of these either were misreported or cancelled since Broderick Jones and Bresee were definitely at the Steelers facility today. The rest of the players on the list have already been confirmed as having visited

Ringo scares me a bit as an early pick, so I kinda hope his was cancelled.

Original post has been updated to show all dates of visits and who has yet to be confirmed to visit

Does he scare you at 32? Seems to have solid talent and instincts just needs to be groomed. I think the Steelers have such capable coaches positionally.

I wouldn't be looking at him until 32 at the earliest and the board would have to be pretty thin.

Chris Adamski reporting the final visits:

Clayton Tune, QB, Houston
Darnell Wright, T, Tennessee

weird they didn't host more local kids

Jonathan Mingo
Charlie Jones
Jayden Reed
Cedric Tillman
Bryce Ford Wheaton
analyzing the WRs in the list it's quite clear where they are targeting the position, 3rd/4th round prospects.
