AB accused of Rape (update dipshit released by pats)

This isn't going anywhere IMHO. AB or the pats*** will pay her off and it'll be over with. AB may get a game or two suspension. But it won't be long.

From the lawsuit filing:

“30. Ms. Taylor never dated or had an interest in any romantic relationship with Brown. Their relationship, as far as Ms. Taylor believed and behaved, was that of a ‘brother-sister’ type.”

yeah, brothers and sisters lay around half naked in bed together all the time! lol

Very true I forgot about that stuff in the law suit. Even if she is telling the truth about the other incidents her credibility just got destroyed so I cant see this going anywhere either.

What is really sad to anyone with any scruples is all the stuff Brown has gotten away with and the NFL has looked the other way.

Yeah those videos certainly throw a wrench into things.

What are you talking about?!? If any NFL player was indicted on felony cocaine possession and intent to distribute charges, the NFL would ban his *** faster than you can say "Roethlisberger." If an owner was arrested for soliciting sex-for-money, hoo-boy, no way he would be allowed in the stadium. If a player had four suspensions due to drug abuse, a DWI, and an admitted history of using drugs before NFL games, wow ... just wow. The NFL would keep that guy away from the game for life.

NFL doesn't give two ***** about scruples. It is a business and they are in it for the money. Sure, they will get on the high moral horse if they think it will either make them more money or prevent loss of revenue.

For example, they were willing to let Rice go on 2 games based on video of him dragging his fiance off the elevator when she was out cold. They didn't get indignant and play hardball till the video showing him cold cocking her on the elevator came out. Their explanation, "We didn't know it was this bad." Did they really think it was anything less than that before they saw the actual punch? Of course not, but Rice sold jerseys and put butts in seats. Soon as they realized they might have a real problem with one of their target growth demographics (young women), they changed their tune.

The NFL is about money, not morals.

Yeah, Headline News, baby

The NFL is about money... PERIOD.

"NFL Grabs Over 109 Million Viewers For Week 1". If you think anything other than gambling receipts motivates these guys more than eyeballs, you're not paying attention. Eyeballs = money. Gambling (LV, 'fantasy', whatever you want to call it) = money. Money. Period.

They will act on 'morals' only to the extent of posturing. Sure, they'll dock Ben 6 weeks and 86 Little Ray-Ray. But it was what PR required at that time. Do you think anybody in this country cares if AB diddled a hapless trainer? Will it affect eyeballs? That will be the NFL's ONLY consideration. Marsha and AB on the same team is good for eyeballs. Next.

Back to the 109 million sets of eyeballs. That benefits the bungholes as much as it benefits the cheats. Otherwise Cincinnati wouldn't have an NFL franchise. And Pittsburgh might not as well. It also means that small market teams don't have incentive to field more than a 'competitive' team. Show up once every 10 years for the playoffs and you're good. That's why the 'mercurial' talent wants to go to the New Englands - its the only shot they have at a ring. Maybe the Rams, cowfelons, and a few others in a particular window, but not much else.

Arty has been scorched in other threads for not being anything more than a 'game manager' as far as running the franchise. He ran William Laird Cowher out of town and brought in the incompetent we now suffer. He doesn't seem to want a firebrand anywhere in the organization, much less on the sidelines. The Steelers braintrust doesn't seem to want firebrands on the team - witness how they jettisoned Peezy, Troy, Silverback, etc. I don't think the chemistry of this team is by happenstance. Management seems satisfied by 8 'n 8. They're fine with mediocre players and even worse play... otherwise they would have done something about the incompetent and his incompetent staff and the mediocre players. They get their revshare off the eyeballs regardless of the product on the field and outcomes.

Hey, they sorta showed up for the Jags in 17. They're good for another 8 years.

CNN writes erotica now?

maybe I didn't hear it right, but while driving home a bit ago I swear NFL radio said AB's accuser is scheduled to meet with NFL next week. If true, WTH? Why would a someone accusing another of rape meet with the accused employer? I can't imagine her attorney would think this is a good idea.

Yeah, it's true. She's meeting with them. Maybe our resident Counselor can explain why exactly that meeting is taking place.

She is letting them know how serious this is and it isn't going away. Could be a power money thing but I think it's her vendetta against the crakA talker that is driving this. Her lawyers know dang well what they are doing and this meeting doesn't scare them. To high profile lawyers for this meeting to bother them in any way. I'm kinda rooting for the underdog here because simply put, at this time, it is more likely assclown did this than it is that he didn't do this.
