What they don't realize is that, the rich will still be rich. The rest of us will all just be equally poor, with little or no opportunity to improve.

She'll only win because she's in NY city. However, she'd better mind her P's and Q's, as she already ran her mouth in support of the Palestinians, and NY city has a large Jewish Population. If she's anti-Isreal and pro-socialism, a good Republican candidate can win, perhaps if he's Jewish and blast Cortez ignorant stance on this issue.

I do think American Jews are shifting slowly toward Republican. If they did a total flip, the State of NY is in play in the general election.

She won because only roughly 30,000 people in a district of 700,000 voted, and the incumbent she upset took none of it seriously. Hell, he skipped debates. Not good optics, looks like he didn't care. If he ran as an independent, it is likely he could win.

Party members and fundraisers gathered for an invitation-only event to figure out how to counteract the rising progressive movement.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — If Sen. Bernie Sanders is leading a leftist political revolt, then a summit here of moderate Democrats might be the start of a counterrevolution.

While the energy and momentum is with progressives these days — the victory of rising star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York, buzz about Democratic Socialism and the spread of the "Abolish ICE!" movement are a few recent examples — moderates are warning that ignoring them will lead the party to disaster in the midterm elections and the 2020 presidential contest.

That anxiety has largely been kept to a whisper among the party's moderates and big donors, with some of the major fundraisers pressing operatives on what can be done to stop Sanders, I-Vt., if he runs for the White House again.

Where progressives see a rare opportunity to capitalize on an energized Democratic base, moderates see a better chance to win over Republicans turned off by Trump.

With the 2020 presidential race just around the corner, moderate Democrats know they are running out of time to reassert themselves.

I don't understand the logic she believes we now need to evolve "past capitalism". She acknowledges capitalism was important to our country's development. She even says it was the best path to present day. Then she says "capitalism" is outliving it's usefulness and we need to evolve into a more "socialist" economy because we can afford a "floor" that no one should live under.

The math doesn't add up on stuff like this. The "floor" socialists promise is never, NEVER going to be as high as what they say and all it does is create a huge "lower-middle" class of mindless workers that have little to no freedoms (because everything has to be towards the collective). The concept of small-business start ups and making huge profits because you took a huge risk is completely foreign to her.

She's an attractive, well educated, well spoken communist that doesn't have a clue yet on how the world works. She's been sheltered her whole life and will never (now that she is in politics) experience any real-world work (running for office is not real work).
