An Intelligent Organization Would start Rudolph 10/10.

Get your drunk *** comments outta here. Ben will only win two or three more games than Mason and cost us draft picks? so start Mason and tank the season? Is that what your drunk *** suggested? seriously? and then you say that anyone who doesn't agree with you concerning putting Mason Rudolf in a QB to tank the season doesn't know **** about football or the league? You aren't just a special kind of stupid, you're also an arrogant special kind of stupid. Like when the Jets had the first overall draft pick sewn up last year and then beat the Browns in the second to last game of a meaningless season to hand it over the Jaguars to get one of the most highly touted QB's in years? Yeah...Dumbass.
And...there isn't a QB in the upcoming draft worth tanking the season for.

I'm going to keep repeating this. It's the running game. The Steelers OL can't run block or pass block. If you're chunking the ball 58 times a game bad **** is going to happen. Even more so when it's a very short passing game, nothing in the middle of the field and defenses STACK THE LINE EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Not only is our running game getting crushed, but our receivers have someone right on top of them in their little 3-6 yard zone and they can rush the passer. Win,win, win for opposing defenses.

It's a recipe for losing and turnovers. A tip here a pass off target, bam turnover.

Easy to defend and highly probable of getting a turnover.

I just hope this isn't what the new offense is going to be and they're working on what the real offense is..haha.

Seriously, our defense used to feast on one dimensional offenses like ours. And ours is a small dimension with a very small catalog for uptempo plays. Which is about the only thing that seems to produce a little.

True but the 2 INTs changed the game too

I hear yaz Berm but don't minimize the drops by deflecting to the interceptions. 11 drops regardless of anything else in the game is WAY WAY WAY to many for 1 players' entire season yet alone a team in one game. There is a reason for this number and as a head coach it would be my intentions to find out what and how to fix immediately.

Salute the nation

Nothing wrong with applying some heat to Ben and throw someone in there for competition. If Ben gets his **** together great...

at least the FO can audition Rudy and Haskens for 10 or so games to determne their future QB needs immediately instead of waiting...

My cousin was telling me today the Steelers were going to make a pitch for Rogers next year. I never asked him where he heard this. Why would you, he's a Cowboys fan...LOL

How many interceptions per game are Steeler fans willing to tolerate with Ben? It appears everyone is still OK with Ben if he throws 2 interceptions per game. If Rudolph threw 2 interceptions you would pull him out of the game. With Ben , it's OK.

2 interceptions per game guarantees a loss ( in most cases).

They've played 3 games. Still have no running game and the pass blocking sucks too. That's guaranteed loss.

Throwing 50+ times a game short, without a running game, will result in more ints.

The goal right now is still the superbowl. When that hope is lost put your backups in. Ben is the best option on this team at qb for that to happen.

Some of you guys are really silly, I get it. Everyone wants the backup qb in, until they actually play a few weeks, teams get film and then it's party time.

I hope I'm wrong, but chances are the Steelers won't sniff another superbowl for a long time. Probably need an entire coaching change.

I don't understand how people think tanking and getting a higher draft pick is the way to go. If we had the #1 pick it wouldn't change anything.

People are silly. Tanking doesn't guarantee anything. If you look at all of the teams who suck constantly who can't get that blue chip qb even drafting high.

The jaggoffs down here are a prime example. A bunch of top 10, top 5 draft picks spent on quarterbacks, all busts. This new cat Lawrence could be something, but who knows.

Leftwich did get a superbowl ring with the Steelers. And he appears to be a damn good coach.

Look, I am well aware that putting. Rudolph or Haskins in is not going to take them where wav all want to go. Why does everything have to be extremes with everyone?

If Ben was 33 and struggling, it would be a completely different scenario. There is still future there. But at the present, there is none. Playing an old, struggling QB who will not be back next year serves no purpose at some point.

I like Tomlin, I think he is a good coach and more importantly a good man. But I agree, I think they need a change.

Leftwich is a good coach, but with that stacked roster and Tom Brady at QB just about anyone could’ve coached the Bucs to a title last year.

rudy sucks
Yes, but Rudy is not hurt, no old. Ben's now a below average starter but sooner or later ( sooner ) Rudy will be better than Ben. Facts to admit., BEN CAN NO LONGER BEAT THE BLTIZ OR ESCAPE THE RUSH. This is a big reason why he focuses only mostly on short passes and avoids the middle. Announce he's hurt then make the switch, even if he's probable or questionable. This way the fans can take it better. I can only take I need to play better so many times. Well 3 games in I have not seen it. To quote Tomlin on that 4th down play, he out of bullets.

you obviously are not watching the games and getting your opinions from the talking heads

Ben has escaped the rush many times and gotten outside the pocket still looking to make a play, his receivers are not breaking to open spots like they did in the past. unfortunately he is not just throwing the ball away, he is taking sacks waiting on an open guy

Damn straight. Ben actually ran for a first down last week and I believe he did it the week prior as well. Sure, it's not a thing of beauty but last week, he rolled out and ended up running for the 1st.

yes I believe he has ran twice this season...

It's not even as much to me about whether or not Ben is playing well. They are losing. They have been losing since late last year, and really not looking competitive doing it.

You can lose with Rudolph or Haskins, too. You can lose more cheaply, too, with those guys, although that is something that is too late now. But you can lose and try to figure out if the other two guys hold any promise.

It's what I can't get beyond in this discussion. They aren't winning. It would be completely different if they were winning and Ben looked like he has as well.

Ben wasn't out of bullets. Canada and his piss poor play calling were out of bullets. Ben isn't calling the plays.
I watched that last play from the All-22 angle and every receiver running a route in the red zone was blanketed. There was absolutely nothing available even if Ben didn't hit Harris in the backfield.

Also, In no way am I blaming Ben completely for the mess they are. Who would have thought the receivers, who we all viewed as a strength, would be so damned average.

My issue with this is that Leftwich has the benefit of being with Ariana and Tom Brady. Who’s responsible for what down there? It’s like with Eric Bienemy; the issues with him getting a job are because he’s tied to Andy Reid, and an otherworldly talent in Mahomes.

My statement was more for as a starter Leftwich didn't get the job done in jax. They've had a number of first round draft picks at qb that didn't get it done. I don't know if Byron is a decent coach or not.

Brady has his **** together and is probably teaching them a thing or 3.

It's extremely hard to find that guy. There's no guarantee a top 10 draft pick qb will work out.

In my lifetime the Steelers got two. Terry&Ben.

Two quarterbacks in 51 years won all 6 super bowls.

I hope we're fortunate enough to find the next one must faster.

No need to rush the end of an era. I'm fairly sure we all know this is the last ride.

Let em ride.

We will get to embrace the suck soon enough.

Don’t be stupid. Mason hasn’t had the opportunity to play with a decent group. He was drafted to replace Ben and he should get a fair shot. At this point, he can’t possibly be worse than what Ben is puking onto the gridiron…
Uh... Ok. That will be your little secret. I assume you lived in an alternate universe where Rudolph didn't start the better part of the season except when he was being benched for Duck.

What in the name of Jesus could Mason Rudolph have done worse than Ben today or the past 3 games?? You people act like he was supposed to show up and just be great. WHAT IF, we start him and the team actually RALLIES around him. Someone their age who has to prove himself too by not overthrowing wide-open receivers all day long. Give it a rest. Ben is done. Let’s see what Mason has now so we know what to do this off-season when we may have to draft our future QB…
