Like I'm not even enjoying it and frankly just want to see the season end. Even the wins the team looked like hot garbage for half or more of the game. There looks to be no fighting spirit on the team. I despise the coach. Tough for me to turn it off. But I must find a way to take this team less seriously. I am certain I care more than 3/4 of the team.

Just have the game on out of habit/for the hell of it these days. Don't get too up or down.. I'd still take watching the game and having a couple beers vs cleaning out the basement or emptying out the ******* on the RV, but I don't let the losses get to me like they did when we had a competitive team that we knew would eventually fold like a cheap suit.

I miss those days of the Cowher teams. Sure we had some losing seasons but they played tough all or at least most of the game. The losing seasons made winning that much more fun/enjoyable. No way in hell he'd tolerate the sulking, taking plays off and bs we see today.

If the season ends, and nothing changes, we have the same season again - Tomlin 12.0. It's dumb. If they blow him/them out and start over, I have hope and interest again. If not, . . . .

Even the announcers could see the lack of enthusiasm on Pickens on a running play. This team has quit, pure and simple. No fire, not even for a home game against a 2 - 10 Patriots / Cardinals team. Take the rest of the season off - go home.

and the worst part or most telling part about this is, is Pickens even after Tomlin talked to him on the sideline, he still acted the same.

hard to get pumped up when playing for a joke of a coach and knowing they are wasting your talent....trust me he will get picked up by somebody like Dallas or LA and he will go on to have a great career.

I watch mostly with indifference anymore. If they make a nice play I applaud, and if they mess something up, I chuckle. No more getting upset and yelling like I did ten years ago. There is no point in getting wrapped around the axle about a team that continuously finds a way to reach new lows. It is sad and disappointing, but I am not going to invest a bunch of time and energy into the Steelers until they do.

I have no idea what I am watching. We've see bad teams, bad games, bad coaches. This is beyond thinkable. Seriously, 10 year old's can draw up better play calling.
4th and 2 for your season. Jesus!

due to the Rooney Rule, we're not firing Tomlin. Face it. He'll have to have a moment of introspection and hold himself accountable then step down.

which we know he won't do. even though by doing so, any of the football shows would throw big money at him and he'd somehow be doing LESS while getting paid very, very well.

Pickens' unenthusiastic blocking is certainly indicative of a much larger problem.

If Tomlin hasn't completely lost the locker room, he is losing it. I can understand the WR's frustration. This offense is Mickey Mouse, they aren't set up for success and they are getting tired of the **** show. Look at how we feel. Imagine what they are feeling knowing it isn't going to change. I can't believe no one has started bitching in the media.

I think Tomlin could have success somewhere where there was unlimited resources for coaches and he was forced to keep hands off sone things. As for me I'd rather roll through two more coaches and some really bad seasons. That is inevitable. This is just delaying that inevitability which is far worse.

Did not waste a second watching the thing but I will tell you that the only way to suffer retribution under Mike Tomlin is to criticize Mike Tomlin.

This team has sucked for a while and now has collapsed under the weight of suck. It can't be fixed.
Time to flush and start over with a completely new staff. Tomlin has lost his grip on this team.
But, get ready for no change..

I do think you are true in this thought, but I might add that the “Rooney“ Rule also has a 10 million salary attached to it. I think he will get no extension and would also like to think he isn’t signed end of next season.

I also thibnk there may be a big reckoning at the end of this season, setting major surprise by the ART 2.

Agree. I can't imagine what the players are thinking when they break the huddle. Both sides of the ball. You can see it in the body language. Was happening 4 years ago with Ben.

4 years ago Ben wasn't playing, he was out with elbow surgery, 2020 Ben threw for 33 TD's, but he was holding this organization back.

As for my beloved STEELERS, i have never seen such a disarray, 1968 fan, in any STEELERS teams.

The 80’s as many here have refereed to, were not near this.

Some accuse Rooney of being cheap, but it is TOMLIN who chooses the full coaching staff of 9. That is the smallest staff in the NFL, it shows in many stages of the game. DK Daily shot had a good segment about the coaching quality and quanity, along with who wants it and has it that way.

I feel we have competitive teams with talent. I feel we can compete fully. I also feel this coaching staff has irreparably let this team / franchise / front office / FANS down.

I feel the entire coaching staff (less scouting but even they need scrutinized), needs replaced. Kahn and Weild need fully involved in the vetting process, obviously ART 2 inclusive.

Many here give ART 2 very little credit as a football man, but he is and has been around it his entire life and in all aspects of it. Top to Bottom along the way and he had the greatest mentor to boot. He is far from stupid as many inferr.

As for watching, I still do every chance I get. I root for them blindly at times, but none the less want positive outcome. I also have lowered my expectations a whole lot. HCMT has been my lowered expectations for quite some time.

It’s hard watching some of these great players come here and see their wasted careers, and yes we have seen several wasted.

It’s hard to watch an offense that even I can guess more than 80% correct on play.

It’s hard to watch a once vaunted defense, get driven 109 yards on for a TD, by a 2-10 team.

The list can go on and on starting about the time the “Cowher” players were leaving, yet BR7 kept covering.

BEN ROETHLISBERGER was a major part of wanting to watch, the greatest STEELERS QB and top 5 NFL QB ever. He too is included in The wasted last 1/3 of his career. But to see him play was golden, for me. He reminded me a lot of the Super Steelers days of old.

I’m here and will remain, but yes, that sour taste is there and I hope it is repelled to none,…… very soon.

Pickens in particular really bothered me. The WR room needs an enema... It all starts with the coach though.

yes, absolutely feel exact same way.

I really wish people would drop the Rooney Rule stuff. That thinly veiled makes this about race and takes eyes off of the real issues. Make no mistake about it Coach MT is going to the HOF because Coach Cowher went and their results are essentially the same. You can easily argue that Tomlin's best results were with Cowher’s people but that dog won't hunt with HOF voters.
So keep this about what it is. Tomlin provides a facade of contending which keeps the money flowing but honestly the middle is the worst place to be unless you are talking about 6 or more years at the bottom. The culture of the team needs renewal and an emphasis on offensive minded play calling head coach who is directly responsible for offensive results.
