Art speaking now,

Ashley Liotus from Channel 4, asked Art about the culture, she said I've grown up here I've been a Steeler fan, I've seen the culture that's been built here, does it bother you that fans and commentators have called into question the team culture? He said, I think people need to have better perspective, I have no problem with our culture, it's a winning culture, we've won a lot of games and make the playoffs often.

I didn't see the channel 4 interview, but I watched the one he did on KDKA with Bob Pompeani where he basically said the same thing.

Art2 sincerely believes that Tomlin has been doing a satisfactory job, and unfortunately, his opinion is the only one that matters.

He seems perfectly fine with the team merely remaining relevant through December, and any advancement in January is just icing on the cake.

The late season collapses 2018, 2020 and 2024 and the 21+ point deficits faced in each of the last 6 playoffs losses don't seem to matter at all.

It is definitely disheartening as a fan to see the owner set the bar so low and appear to be nowhere nearly as frustrated with the way things have gone over the past decade as we all are.

There is really no reason for hope or optimism in the foreseeable future when Rooney seems totally oblivious to the problems.

So is the no trade clause in Tomlin's contract accurate information?

Who does that as a coach anyway? Weird.
It is accurate
But simply listening would’ve at least paved a path

Right now since the man’s seat never heats and Art continuously backs him no matter what he’s emboldened enough to say things like “no chance” and “don’t bother” referring to other teams inquiring about him

The extension was ridiculous.
To tie a no trade clause in too just shows Art lacks sense.

Just listening to offers would’ve been the closest thing to applying some pressure on Mike that Art has done in a decade…he should’ve taken the call whether it went anywhere or not. Mike is WAY too comfy

No it doesn't, it means they don't list every strength and conditioning coach, or analytics, or scout on their payroll. They only list the major title holders. FACT. Again, NO WHERE in my post was anything FINANCIAL talked about. You add in your own nonsense to fit your tired, clapped out narrative that hasn't changed for the last 15 years. Parrot
You don't even realize that Pgh staff and coaching is among the lowest paid in the league, pathetic.

You keep bringing up money. The question was expanding the staff, adding people. Not paying them more. They don't need to add more. They do need to UPGRADE! You keep adding things in that I never said, EVER

YOU JUST DON'T GET IT,THEY DONT UPGRADE WITHOUT PAYING THEM MORE. ROONEY IS A CHEAPSKATE. HE THROWS AROUND DIMES LIKE MANHOLE COVERS.

Add into this that Tomlin makes all but $20 mill.....peanut for the rest of the coaches.

They pay the HC....and hire nobodies that are yes men for Tomlin. Tomlin gets the majority of the $$$$$. The rest of the cast offs get what little is left. So yes...upgrades would be nice. I am not thinking many want to come here though to advance their careers.

I thought that my step kids were two of the dumbest people I've ever known. You top them.
This coming from the dumbell who doesn't understand good coaching costs $. Dear God, you are light years from having common sense.

At this point I don’t get why anyone would want to come to the Burgh outside of a player being on a bottom feeder.

Money isn't the end all in coaching.....a bunch want to move on from our HC and he is the 3rd highest paying HC out there.

Cooch will not be outdone by anyone.

Here's what I don't understand:

It seems to be nearly a consensus that the problem is the Rooneys are only about money, and not concerned with the product on the field. But wouldn't a better product lead to more revenue? Wouldn't another Super Bowl appearance help to create increased value for the franchise going forward?
The reward for that would be some, no getting around that fact. I happen to believe that their thought process is that moving on from Tomlin has a higher rate of probability that they see decreased revenue. AKA - The juice isn’t wort the squeeze.

Tomlin’s thought process is that he is just within reach of a Championship, if things just bounce his way. This is possibly true, but since the last Super Bowl has shown to not be the case. He has not adjusted to the game today, and likely never will. Nothing in his O or D philosophies trend towards today’s game. I for one don’t really consider INT’s to be a huge problem unless 2 things also happen.
1. INT’s thrown because of absolutely awful QB understanding of Defenses he is supposed to know.
2. INT’s and not scoring points to overcome them.

If a QB throws 2 or 3 INT’s in a game and still scores 30+ points, they can still win with mediocre D play. No risk, no reward.
