Art speaking now,

Ashley Liotus from Channel 4, asked Art about the culture, she said I've grown up here I've been a Steeler fan, I've seen the culture that's been built here, does it bother you that fans and commentators have called into question the team culture? He said, I think people need to have better perspective, I have no problem with our culture, it's a winning culture, we've won a lot of games and make the playoffs often.
That shows the level that Art feels is al right to be at: 1 playoff game and then get blown out. That "good enough" for Art. Says it all. No playoff win in 8 years. He's fine with it.

It is what everyone has to deal with cooch.

It sucks but it is what it is.

The reward for that would be some, no getting around that fact. I happen to believe that their thought process is that moving on from Tomlin has a higher rate of probability that they see decreased revenue. AKA - The juice isn’t wort the squeeze.

Tomlin’s thought process is that he is just within reach of a Championship, if things just bounce his way. This is possibly true
, but since the last Super Bowl has shown to not be the case. He has not adjusted to the game today, and likely never will. Nothing in his O or D philosophies trend towards today’s game. I for one don’t really consider INT’s to be a huge problem unless 2 things also happen.
1. INT’s thrown because of absolutely awful QB understanding of Defenses he is supposed to know.
2. INT’s and not scoring points to overcome them.

If a QB throws 2 or 3 INT’s in a game and still scores 30+ points, they can still win with mediocre D play. No risk, no reward.
Good take, but I don't see a team coached and developed by Tomlin being a bounce or two away from reaching a championship. As you say, he hasn't adjusted, and as we are all painfully aware, his abject failures in the playoffs recently don't offer a whole lot of hope.

You are absolutely spot-on about a head coach having enough balls to be able to trust his QB to come back and win a game in which he's thrown a few INTs. In the NFL, you have to win in different ways sometimes. That's what I've always disliked about MT -- his 'we do what we do' mindset. It just doesn't work against good playoff opponents.

I also don’t believe his team is a bounce or two away from a Championship either, my point was that HE BELIEVES they are.

The only way to change this is to start at the top, hammer your way down.

Art 2 isn’t changing and it will be hard-pressed to think his son Dan is going to jump overboard on change.

My belief is the change will happen once Dan is installed, but little by little.

As soon as Coach Tom Lin is gone, there will be a good chance of BIG change there.

Salute the nation
