Let's ride the Tatertot! If he can stand back there and pick up some blocks, I'll be a happy man.
Tate is pulling some serious trim.
I'm ok with this signing - especially since I'm not signing the paychecks that some here think they do...
Tate is a decent RB, who, I think, is not being brought in to "be Le'Veon"; but, he can assist in toting the rock against the big front of Baltimore.
Agreed. If nothing else it gives the Ravens something else to think about.
Late to the party but awesome news! I'm 100% for this signing. Much needed veteran in there to carry the load and pick up blocks. Best part is he's fresh as a new born so shouldn't have any problems winding down the clock in the 4th if we get a lead.
The emergency RB, if everyone else got hurt, is Troy. Come to think, they may be better with him there.
As to the decision not to sign anyone when Blount was bogarted, there was not much available. We also had lots of injured players on the team that were not ready to play but were not going to IR so we had players we did not want to release and a healthy durable Bell. Bell was not taking lots of big hits either and for the most part was going out of bounds or being tackled in the secondary. The steelers are for some reason still enamored with archer and laundry jones and want to keep them available although I hope to be surprised by Archer doing something I am not expecting him to do much this year.
Tate is a good insurance policy and has a similar style to Bell. Watching his highlights that were so nicely posted shows lots of similarities between the two. At this point not signing someone could be a disaster. If Harris gets hurt we then have no one but Archer. I suspect Bell might be out for more than just this weeks game and maybe available in the AFCC and super bowl if we get that far. At least we will now have two viable running backs on the team to play in place of Bell and if he does need more time he does not have to rush back.
Still think Harris is/will be a good back. Maybe trade Archer to the Raiders in offseason. They worship speed there.
The only reason DHB made the roster was he was a veteran..Brown caught more passes during the year (preseason and regular) but was relegated to the PS.
and get what for him exactly?
rock em sock em robot?

If the Steelers' season ends in New England with Blount having a 150+ rushing day on them, I'll continuously vomit for three days.
Do you have any other "what if's"? Maybe something a little more palatable?
What if New England's season ends against us with blount fumbling away the potential game winner on the goal line as time expires
Been there, done that... old hat lol....I'm liking that one.....
How bout this one...
Flacco throws an interception in the red zone with under a minute to play to seal the deal...
