Ben Tate to visit Steelers

I'd have him as the third string emergency RB. He doesn't know the system or the plays. Keep Harris at number 1 and then backup to Bell when he is ready.

If Tate plays and probably will, could run like a raped ape as an audition for 2015.
I'm trying to visualize how a raped ape would run.. Fast? Somewhat hobbling? Panicky, with darting eyes? Would run a few feet then roll on the ground, then jump back up again? I don't know, trying to figure it out.

LOL....I hope its not on all fours!

Well there it is. Tate is a Steeler and all that matters is....Let's go Tate! Let's go Steelers! Welcome to the best damn football team you've ever been on!

SB here we come!!!!
I was thinking it would be kind of ironic and another good reason to win the SB. A Stain who gets cut ends up with a ring in Black & Gold.
Oh, and he wasn't used properly in Cleveland.

oh, and DHB is on our "hands team"

~ ducks ~
So was Ike Taylor. I still remember me and the wife busting out laughing over that.

And i liked Justin...he was a good kid ..DHB offers no productivity. Maybe we bring Justin back to camp next season to compete.........

If Brown could play special teams better than DHB it would be him dressing weekly and DHB getting the BOOT. It's all about their roles on the team. Brown had a giant opportunity early on in the season..They moved on.

As long as he crosses the end zone without any flags, I'll watch it and root for it all day long. Here we go Steelers!

Just a little stroll down memory lane to see what Tate is capable of. Obviously he hasn't shown this type of form this year...but maybe, just maybe, the thrill of a playoff game will flip on a mystical voodoo switch in his brain and propel him to acts of greatness...

No ****! Right? From the couch to the Black and Gold against the Ravens in the playoffs. Good day for Tate. Hopefully a good day for us.

That is exactly how a raped ape runs...

Yep. before the season started and if you would of asked me who i wanted as a back up Tate or Blount i would have taken Tate...that said i wish i had all the insiders info on this kid over this past season.

I have to believe he was signed as insurance and won't see the field this week, Harris and Johnson are going to have to carry the load. The Steelers may be hoping that Tate is the #2 for the future. Pick him up cheap and hope he's willing to come back to camp in August. Then he'll have the opportunity to learn the playbook and contribute.

Tate flourished in the zone blocking scheme so I think we are a good fit for him. I doubt he carries the load but I bet he is second on the team in attempts come saturday. At 26 Tate was a much better option than Rice. Tate has life left in his legs and this is a good look at him with minimal risk to see if he can take the Blount role for 2015.

Signing Tate is a good move. He played well here in Houston and I'm comfortable with this signing. I feel better not having to worry about Mini Mouse trying to run off tackle or through the middle of the line. Don't know what happened in Cleveland with Tate but remember who we're dealing with here, the Browns dysfunctional family. In Minny he just wasn't used it appears. All I know is he looked good last year for the Texans.

Anyone know what number he got? I'm having a Tate jersey custom made.

Ben Tate, the new Rock Ape of the Cape.

I know. Anywho, Tate dressed for all five games in Minnesota and played in three. 13 carries for 38 yards. He should be ready to go. Bring him up to speed and if Bell can't go, we will have a Vet RB there to handle some of the load.
