So Lloyd what I think you must learn here on this board or really anywhere in this journey we call life is this.
Yes, it’s ok to criticize Tomlin when he deserves it and trust me, there are times when he deserves it, but when he performs his job well, you simply must praise him for that. That’s called being fair with people whether it’s the coach of the Steelers or your boss or your best friend.
Perfect example. I’ve been critical in the past of Coach Danny Smith aka Bubbles but I must say, he’s got these ST running on all cylinders man so I will gladly give him props.
See, that’s how it works man. If you’re going to offer criticism then you better damn sure be able to offer up praise.
Hats off to you Coach Tomlin and ST Coach Smith. I salute you both with a refreshing pop of Jameson.

That was a complete win in all facets

Sure a shaky start by a rusty QB and the D was struggling early, but they got right and dominated.

That looks like good coaching by the guys on the sidelines and good focus by the players executing the plan.

Kudos to all, keep this train a chuggin’ along!

Fun game to watch.

You're right, and by example I will do so now. I'm well over Tomlin, and tired of his ruts, but in this decision he did the right thing.

So, kudos to you Tomlin. Great leadership in this decision. Thank you.

Boy someone is really missing what sport message boards are all about. OK, then, thanks for the lecture. No criticizing any coaches or players from here on out. That will work out just super! No being critical of anyone, regardless of how much they deserve it! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So this is your version of "thank you"??? Got it...

At 5-2 that could easily be 6-1 the only ones that need criticizing are the twatwaffles that ***** about every living thing under the sun on a team they allegedly support.

**** trolls and **** miserable morons

We have 2 QBs that both are looking pretty good
A RB returning to form and looking like he’s about to take off after a somewhat slow start
We have a TE making circus catches and another that’s one of the best blockers in the league
An OL that is still ticking despite all the injuries
An “old man” DE that is showing why he is a captain and still one of the best in the league
Three crazy good OLBs
The best secondary we’ve seen in years
A HC that’s pulling all the right levers
Even BUBBLES is getting the most from his unit
And I didn’t even mention several young up and comers like Benton, P Wilson, Moon, Frazier, MM, etc

But yeah, be a miserable ***** that’s sad cuz he has nothing legit to complain about

**** the **** off and go follow the Stains or Panthers, they’ll give ya plenty to criticize

I’m not lecturing you, really I’m not. I’m probably old enough to be your dad.
I said sure you can criticize coaches and of course players as well, but when they do well you should offer up praise. So please tell me where I’m wrong here.
I never said not to be critical. I only said when they do well you should be willing to offer praise.
Come on you know better than that.

First off good post.

Maybe Russ actually gives us the better chance to win now, Tomlin seems to have more faith in him then he does Justin. I am just really pulling for Justin personally. I think he is a great guy with a ton of upside.

Always had faith in Najee really happy for him the last couple weeks.

I will be the first to admit I was WRONG about Cam, I did not want to resign him. this is probably why the front office doesn't pay attention to me..

This secondary could be crazy good, for years. the defense as a whole is looking pretty amazing minus a fourth down play against the cry girls.

I have been vocal that I don't have a lot of faith in MT as a head coach, don't apologize for that but I do hope he proves me wrong this year. I got me a big ole bottle of hot sauce and would be thrilled to eat that crow. Even though I don't have a lot of faith in him he is our coach and though I will call him out on his BS when I feel it deserved, as long as he is our coach I will pull for him and hope he is successful.

Like I said good post and pretty spot on..

In some ways we are at the same place, in others not so much. I still root for my Steelers each week, and that means I root for Mediocre Mike, by default. Like I said, I do root for the Steeler to win each week so in that way I am rooting for Cool Shades. It's just that after 17 year, and more specifically after the last decade, I have grown weary and tired waiting for any light to suddenly get turned on. Oh, I still have the faintest glimmer of hope, but most of that has been long extinguished.

Do I still hope and pray that the addition of Kahn and subsequent additional discipline has changed the team chemistry and dynamics to a team that now suddenly respects discipline and responds to it. Better late than never. Although the two losses to such lightweight teams such as Indy and Dallas seem to refute such assertions, who knows? Maybe Mediocre Mike caught some hell he didn't like and learned something. Maybe we've seen an end of players reporting to the media the shocking lack of team discipline exhibited by the team and coaches that was holding the team back. Wouldn't that be something?

Me as well. The lectures aren’t working anyway.
The kid needs a good spanking..

Seems some on message boards have gone soft and forgotten what they actually were meant for.

Great post. Just meant to say Harris instead of Hall for the Steelers, but I get the sentiment.

Mike still doing it with a banged up Offensive line. Here's the difference between Mike Tomlin and Harbaugh. When Harbaugh loses 4 guys on his offensive line, he misses the playoffs with a Lamar Jackson offense. When it happens to Mike, we keep on winning. Over time, you can not deny how MT continues to find ways to win through adverse conditions, and none are more adverse than Duck, Rudolph, Pickens, Trubisky. Should have won coach of the year for getting those dogshit QBs to the playoffs.

Well, look who we lost, not quite pro bowlers in their prime. Mostly rookies, 2nd year guys and unestablished guys.

But starters nonetheless. Not many teams lose so many olineman and still continue to win.
They are winning with a guy named mccollum at center. A rookie in MM.
One hell of a coaching job.

Questions:

What are your feelings on both losses, to Indy and Dallas, since "Mediocre Mike" had to pay both games with his second string QB???

Oh, and then let us know what you expected those scores to be AND what was your prediction for the Steelers this season???

Not to make this a dump on Tomlin thread. But when I read those comments you make about those “dog ****” QB’s I can’t help myself to bring up this ………Who was responsible in the first place to bring in those “dog ****”QB’s? Excluding the Duck, arguably Rudolph was drafted to replace Ben,Pickens was drafted as a Franchise QB,and Mitch was FA signed to be our #1 QB*as well. All 4 of those QB’s huge failures in relation to being a #1. Does he not bare responsibility for bring those 4 “ dog ****” QB’s to our roster in the first place? Couple that with arguably the worst ever OC signing and RETENTION. Coach of the year? I think not.

He got production out of those dogshit QBs. Rudolph was actually solid, and not a lot of effort was made to bring in anyone when you still had Big Ben. Either way, only Trubisky has a loosing record as a starter. He did more with less and still had Canada hamstringing our offense...

Well my whole point was that he brought them in. And he hired and retained Canada. Total wasted years of not going forward at all. Getting those dog **** QB’s and OC was on him. I have no idea how anyone can say Rudolph was solid. Bottom line. After he got benched his first opportunity,he never started again except for injuries. In other words a backup. And then cast aside again. If you consider solid a backup,I guess you are correct. “Still had Canada hamstring our Offense”. Ummm he hired him. And when it was painfully obvious he was useless, retaining him. Set the program back 3 years.
