Cam gets his dough

Meh. While I think his best days are FAR behind him and that he will be mostly ineffective, that contract isn’t awful and the guaranteed money is probably front loaded to where they can cut him loose whenever they feel like it without much in the way of cap implications. But without all of the particulars, hard to say.

Hindsight being 20/20, he should’ve just shut it down last year with groin injury rather than come back. He wasn’t nearly as productive and not as effective. Those numbers and lack of production must have given them the hesitation. I think that this is over payment but it’s not my money

Well,he gets to retire a Steeler. I hope he has a fantastic year and stays healthy.
Until more info. comes in, seems absolutely stupid. You give new $ and years to a 35-year-old DT? Just moronic.

Being buddy buddy with you know who has its advantages, but not for the team. NOT for the team.

He's been an asset to the team both as a player and a good guy. I'd like to see him and Watt holding the big trophy before he's gone.
At least we don't have to continue hearing him whining about playing for Cleveland any longer.

It’s not that big an issue. Cams best years are for sure behind him but he can still be a contributor to this football team on the field and as one of its leaders to the younger guys.
He won’t be here thru the 27 season most likely just the 24 and 25 seasons and then they will move on from him imo. He will get some new money up front and I think that’s really what he wanted.
It’s a decent move by the organization and after the 25 season he’ll most likely retire a Steeler like he wanted and some new money.
I think all of us that retired would have loved to had that kind of deal when we retired.

Lloyd, just some constructive criticism here please.
You know as well as I that you don’t have to mention his name but just to always interject Tomlin into most of your posts simply gets old for most posters here.
Lloyd, I’m afraid you’re suffering from Tomlin derangement and it’s consumed you here.
I get it! I know you obviously don’t think much of him and I’m not his biggest fan either like others here, but simply it is what it is.
You have to move on from this Tomlin bashing because Art made his decision and thats that. Don’t allow that to distract from your passion for the team itself. It’s simply not worth it. You can’t and you will not change anything.
Sit back, watch and enjoy the games each week. Have fun and celebrate the return of Steeler football. Leave Tomlin bashing out of your posts and I think you will enjoy the forum and the season much more.
Just my opinion Lloyd! Relax!

I heard Connor said he was going to walk if Cam wasn't extended
There it is! Coolie has broken the deep inside scoop on how this got done 🤣🤣🤣. It can be argued the money being well spent at this time, but he’s been a solid player, example to younger guys, and a Steeler through and thru. Happy for him as a man, now hopefully he has enough gas in tank to make some game changing plays for us.

Someone has tried to be nice like that to him each year for many years

In reality, this changes nothing. He was getting $16 million this year from the Steelers regardless. If this thing is front loaded as I suspect it is, they can cut him with no repercussions if he fails to produce this season. This appears to be a low risk extension for the Steelers. Doubt he sees the end of the contract.

I hear you! I mean as you know, there is absolutely zero value in constant bashing of the HC on a Steeler forum.
Yeah, I know, some guys feel better after venting but damn, it just doesn’t make it fun anymore for anyone and I have to think it can’t be a good thing for Lloyd.
I think we all here have good things to contribute to this forum which makes it such a great one. I just think the Tomlin bashing gets out of control at times. Does he deserve criticism throughout the season? Of course but you can’t blame the guy for every damn problem the team encounters. That’s not fair to any HC.

If they can cut him for 16 million after the year. 5.25 per year. I can live with. If he produces for two more seasons not terrible. Concerning though.
