Apparently, his signature is too valuable for him. I'll settle for custom Avatar rights for two months if he agrees and stop posting for a month if he wins. I suspect he won't, so it will be an I told you so type of moment if I care to remember in 2019.

the only concession you've made is eliminating the season ending injury, so stop acting like you are bending over backward for this

It matriculated from about Oliver being a Heisman winner, to being a top 10 pick in the draft. You say no to both. Coolie called you on it and on the draft gave you the terms. You have constantly tried to change the parameters that Coolie set.

My question to you was to see if you even knew anything about the topic. You don’t. Just like everything else you post, you have no validity, just your opinion.

THE STORYLINE
When Houston opened spring practice earlier this month, star defensive tackle Ed Oliver made an unusual announcement that this upcoming season would be his last with the Cougars and he would be declaring for the NFL Draft.

It was hardly a surprising move, since Oliver could contend for the No. 1 pick overall - he has been that special at Houston - but the timing was strange, making that statement even before his junior season starts and way before many people even consider the 2019 Draft.

Defensive tackle is expected to be a premium position in next year’s NFL Draft, and Oliver will hardly be the only underclassman declaring early. Michigan’s Rashan Gary, Clemson’s Dexter Lawrence, Auburn’s Derrick Brown and others should be top picks.

“His freshman year against Oklahoma, I saw him split a double team and sack Baker Mayfield in one of his first handful of plays fresh out of high school. An 18-year-old kid making plays on the big stage. At that moment I was like, ‘Yeah, this kid is for real.’

"The play that I keep seeing in my head that tells me everything you need to know about Oliver was the first game of last season against Arizona. Houston flushed Arizona quarterback Brandon Dawkins out of the pocket and the speedster took off up the middle for what looked like was going to be a 30-yard gain and a fresh set of downs for the Wildcats. Then, out of nowhere, comes 290-pound defensive tackle Ed Oliver 30 yards downfield taking down Dawkins from behind and knocking the ball loose and into the hands of another Houston defender. That play right there just about clinched it for me. This kid is special. Barring any kind of major injury, I fully expect him to be a top five pick next April.

It's amazing what Ed Oliver has been able to accomplish while serving as the clear-cut primary threat in Houston's defense. This elite DT led the Cougars in tackles for loss (16.5) and sacks (5.5) while accumulating 73 total tackles. For good measure, he also had a one-yard rushing touchdown in the Hawaii Bowl against Fresno State.



Junior Year Outlook

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Oliver will remain the focal point of opposing offenses, and he will continue shedding double-teams to break up plays in the backfield. In what figures to be the year of the defensive lineman, Oliver should at least sneak on to the fringe of the Heisman conversation as the best of that bunch.



NFL Potential

Oliver has already unofficially declared for the 2019 NFL draft, and he should be at the top of every draft board heading into next April. Given what he has done without much of a supporting cast at Houston, front offices will be chomping at the bit to pair this game-changing athlete with quality defensive ends and linebackers. He could be the best DT since Warren Sapp.

In 2017, Oliver registered 73 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. That came on the heels of a freshman campaign that saw him finish with 65 tackles, 22.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and two forced fumbles.


If Oliver goes No. 1 overall in the 2019 draft, he will join a small group of defensive tackles who have done so.

Only Russell Maryland, Steve Emtman and Dan Wilkinson have gone No. 1 overall at that position, and it hasn't occurred since 1994.

Teams have seemingly steered clear of defensive tackles with the top pick since Maryland, Emtman and Wilkinson combined for just one Pro Bowl nod between them.

Oliver is a special talent, however, and he would join an already impressive Bills defense that helped lead Buffalo to the playoffs in 2017.

Since the Bills have major question marks at quarterback between AJ McCarron and rookie Josh Allen, a significant regression is possible.

yeah I was reading that the other day. Was thinking that he could fight the Bosa brother for that number one spot. Both should be solid pros.
