Some much needed CB depth, even if it's on the practice squad. Looks like he's got some wheels..
Pittsburgh Steelers sign CB Isaiah Frey to the practice squad

Draft Analysis:
Bucky Brooks' take: Frey gives the Bears an athletic corner with athleticism and quickness. He is ideally suited to play in a two-deep scheme and will have a chance to make the roster as a sub defender.
Name: Isaiah Frey
College: Nevada
Height: 5-11 Weight: 188
Position: CB Pos2: FS
Class/Draft Year: Sr/2012
40 Low: 4.35
04/29/2012 - A closer look at the Bears' picks: Round 6/184 - Isaiah Frey, CB, 5-11, 188, Nevada...Had five interceptions and a national-best 21 pass breakups as a senior. Three-year starter. Does not play a physical game and has unrefined footwork. Has good closing speed but gives too much cushion in coverage. Solid 40-yard dash time (4.46) at pro day. - The Sports Xchange
Bears take Isiah Frey in sixth

Frey (5-10, 190) was not invited to the combine. He ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at his pro day, to go along with 18 bench-press reps, 32-inch vertical jump, 9-11 broad jump, 4.04 20-yard shuttle and 6.90 three-cone drill.
A three-year starter, Frey played in every game his collegiate career and did not deal with any major injuries. He led Nevada with five interceptions and 21 passes defended his senior season, earning him first-team All WAC honors. As a junior, he was named second-team All WAC.
He was recognized by Sports Illustrated as an honorable mention in their list of 2011 All Americans.
On film, Frey is a decent cover corner with quick feet and strong hands, which he uses well to redirect receivers at the line of scrimmage. He has outstanding closing speed and fluid hips. His ball skills are above average. He's a willing tackler but lacks ideal technique and strength.
Frey was drafted as a special teams player. His speed and footwork should allow him to have success as a gunner on punts. Yet he has all the measurables for an NFL cornerback, so down the road, with good coaching, he could turn into a contributor on defense.
