Yeah it’s horrible. So what’s your solution to it? Background checks? Almost every school shooter would either have passed one or got his weapon through somebody who did. Banning “assault weapons”? Automatic weapons have been banned for decades. Many semiautomatic guns would not be classified as “assault weapons” under proposed bans.
I’m not even opposed to some reasonable gun controls but I have never heard of a proposed solution that would actually solve this problem. Banning and confiscating all guns might, I’m opposed to that for a variety of reasons but nobody I know is proposing that.
We don’t have mass shootings in baseball or football stadiums because we have proper security measures. Apparently those measures are too expensive to protect schoolchildren.

The problem with a gun ban is that with some 400 million guns already in the United States, the only people who would turn over their weapons are law-abiders. The remaining 100 million (?) guns would be freely available to criminals.
Time to go after the actual causes: for mass shootings, SSRI's and other drugs used on kids and catering to bizarre fetishes such as gender ideology and other mental defects.
