College Football Playoff Thread

Dawgs front 7 held that defense. Even if UGA were to advance. I think the receiving issues, the young secondary, Mike Bobo would make them look pedestrian eventually.

I’m still head held high for them pulling through and winning as much as they did. But this UGA class was nowhere near where the previous class was.

Credit to Kirby. Also excited for Stockton

Well, I knew halfway through the year this wasn't a championship team. It was still a good season. I hope they can bring in some offensive players who can catch the damn ball.

They had like 30 some drops heading into the game.

I saw the highlight of Bell dropping a wide open pass earlier.
That’s UGA’s season in a nutshell

I know. I watched it. He dropped another later as well. I would have pulled him and stuck in the waterboy.

Yeah. A lot of the weaknesses started showing when the played UMass.

There’s a lot they left on the table but I also feel like Kirby squeezed out what he could.

Until this year with the new playoff format...who would have been the final 4 under last years format?

Dart is very impressive so far.

On the Bulldogs / Irish game, I wanted the Bulldogs because of MTC and I wanted the Irish because of a local friend of mine.

I only got to watch highlights, it did look like a pretty good game considering I only got to see the highlights.

I think both teams played to their respective seeding in the tournament.

The time of the game reschedule was odd. The stands were very empty, and I couldn't watch it. I am sure many couldn't.

Oregon Georgia Texas Tennessee, or at least that's what ESPN would have said.

The final playoff ranking was
1 Oregon
2 Georgia
3 Texas
4 Penn State
5 Notre Dame

They would have put in Oregon, Georgia, Texas and then because they wouldn't want just 2 conferences, they would have screwed Penn State and put in Notre Dame. Then they'd rig the seeding to make sure Texas and Georgia didn't meet in round 1.

And that's the rub Tape....this throws all the previous Champions into question. Did Texas really deserve the '72 Championship over an undefeated Nittany Lion team because Nixon said so? Did Nebraska really deserve '95 title beating a one loss Miami by one score? If anything, the playoffs will somewhat make the teams "earn it" by winning at least two games and that means beating a team that already won a playoff game to get there. I'm all on board with this new process even if they need to get a few kinks worked.

Here is the thing. UGs front seven is a problem which made ND's run to pass offense look meh. I do not think Penn State's run defense has as much lead in the pencil. They are schematically good but they aren't near as big physical. ND will have more success on the ground vs. The Nitty Lions.

The 8 non playoff teams will have to play the week after the championship game week..
They need to ditch the championship games. They won't because of money, but they should.

Having a bye and playing first-round games at home was so much better for those teams than those with the 2.5 week bye and playing at a neutral site. Put non-qualifying teams in those bowl games and play the playoffs on campus.

This Ga. QB is getting settled in. They're gonna put up some points. Not sure ND can handle Ga's D.

Ga. by 10 or more
