College Football Playoff Thread

Tried watching it years ago. No.

Then, skipped to the end one time. All this so some schmuck can finally play the last 3 seconds of the last quarter of the last game of the season and last game of his "career". Wtf?
 
It’s a great American story …
Highlights all the value added qualities that I wish more young people today exhibited.
Rudy is the man!
BTW.. have met him a couple times and have his autographed photo of being the only player carried out of Notre Dame Stadium in my man cave!

No black HC has ever won a natty...that's kind of crazy.
 
We are...Penn State!

Notre Dame's defense is for real, though. Saw them live back in November and they are no joke. #99 was their best player, and he's out, but they were still very effective against Georgia.

Should be a good game tonight; I think the Lions will come out on top in a low-scoring affair.
 
4 unlikeable teams in the final four. Puke.

I guess I hope ND comes out on top.
 
I hope Penn State wins. If they had any receiving threat outside of Warren, I’d give them a shot to win it all.
 
Notre Dame’s RB was in a boot all week. If he’s unable to play or if he’s not explosive, that hurts ND’s offense a lot.

Abdul Carter is injured, something with his arm or shoulder. He’s going to play but how effective can he be as a pass rusher? I have a feeling he may end up as a spy for Riley Leonard. They did that vs Illinois and their similar offense.

Here’s current ND Def Coordinator Al Golden’s greatest moment in 1990 at Penn State, scoring the game tying TD on the way to a big upset of #1 ND.
 
I got it coming down to turnovers. Love is playing and the drop off to Price isn't that big and Williams is good change of pace. Just a matter if ND can counteract that gapping Penn State Defense. They aren't big but very quick.
 
This game tonight is evenly matched on the field, but Franklin needs to bring his A game because Freeman is an outstanding HC. Like, no going for it on 4th and inches on your own 40yd line or fake punts on your own 30yd line. play field position and let this defense do their work.

I rewatched the Boise game replay from sky cam view. The WRs do Allar no favors. Not much separation and they don’t make contested catches.

Just before the half with under a minute, Penn State was driving. Allar threw 3 dimes for TD, all dropped. First was a deep ball down the sideline, would have been maybe a 40 yard TD. Hits the WR in the endzone, he had it for a moment and it popped out as he the ground. Then another dime, not as long but WR doesn’t catch it again. Finally, he hit Warren at the 1 and he dropped it. Settled for a FG.

If Penn State had a Jeremiah Smith or even a Jahan Dotson, their offense would be unstoppable.
 
I won't believe Penn State can win a game like this under Franklin until they do. He can't beat top 10 teams. They are never prepared. I hope they do win tonight and I will be rooting until the fat beeeotch is singing.

They also need more out the passing game tonite..
Someone other than Faison needs to step up!
The Pittsburgh kid and central catholic grad Hinish will need to continue to step up in place of Rylie Mills..
 
If Penn State came out in Northern Illinois uniforms, that would be a baller move.

And if Notre Dame came out in Bowling Green State uni's, that would also be baller, but not quite as baller, obviously.

The pass pro will need to be significantly better then last week.
 
OSU should win it all as they have the most talent but Day has a nasty habit of turtling under the brightest of lights. Jeremiah Smith might be the best freshman I’ve ever seen though. At any position. He would be a top 3 pick RIGHT NOW in the NFL draft.

I don’t think you’ll see them turtling. It appears Day has removed the safety features from all of his weapons. He won’t make the same mistake he did against Michigan. If the last two weeks are any indication, their opponent is going to have to bring their 5 ⭐️ A +++++ game just to stay in it. Jeremiah Smith is the most developed freshman player at any position maybe ever in college football. Every team in college would kill to get that kid.

There’s a lot of myths about Rudy both positive and negative. From what I’ve read:

It was 3 plays, a kickoff, an incomplete pass and the sack.

Devine was in favor of him dressing and playing.

There was no chanting of his name, confirmed by Joe Montana.

The groundskeeper character is fictional but based on two real people.

ND haters claim that he was widely disliked and would go 100% during walk through practices pissjng players off and that he was carried off the field in jest.
 
Ok college football guys….you people are far more knowledgeable than me in the college players. From a Steelers point of view who would you realistically draft from either of these teams tonight ? Personally I am looking WR,CB, D line. Is there a QB or RB that would interest you ( not necessarily first round). Later pick gem?
