College Football Week 5

Alabama hupping the ball with 23 seconds left throughout the 4th quarter. Mind boggling.

What an insane choke job by Alabama.

They still have time to win it, but man, this has been bad.

Well it took 3.5 quarters bit finally the game we expected

One of the most frustrating games I ever watched for Penn State. Illinois is a decent team. But their offense only moved the ball on missed tackles, penalties and allowing them to throw a slant over and over. It's great that their DC makes adjustments for the 2nd half, but what happens if you're against Ohio State and give up 21 before you figure things out?

That block in the back on the pick 6 was so stupid. Like you should bench that guy for being a retard. Your guy is 5 yards downfield and about to score and you shove a guy in the back who had not shot to even get near him. That summed up the game.

The OL looks great and they have 2 really good RBs. But once again, they face a decent defense and can't throw the ball. Allar did miss on a few throws but guys weren't really getting open. If they had just 1 guy who could get open, the rest would all be excellent #2 type guys.

Penn State's OC has been great so far but he got too cute in this game. They decided to go empty backfield on a 4th down? Why? You are grinding them up with the run. Even if you plan a pass, keep a RB in the backfield so they have to respect the run. That same exact play with a Rb in the backfield probably would have worked.

The kicker is toast. He appears to have a big leg but his confidence is shot. They have to go with the #2 guy.

Penn State dominated this game and yet the score was close the whole way. They better stop all these mistakes.

They need to do away with conference championship games. Consider that with the new playoff, the top 4 teams get a bye. Those top 4 teams must be a conference champion. I assume that means the winner of conference championship is crowned champ. So What if Bama goes unbeaten and then loses in the SEC championship to maybe a 2 loss team? That 2 loss team is getting a bye and Bama is playing a first round playoff game.

Or a worse scenario, your conference has 2 teams that could make a playoff, but you force them to play each other and now you only get 1 playoff team for your conference.

Competitively It makes zero sense to still have conference championship games. But money money money.

Between the Kentucky near loss and then looking like two different teams against Bama, it’s anyone’s guess how good Georgia is, or isn’t. It’ll be interesting to see who shows up against Texas.

I think the most unbelievable thing about the Ga/Alabama game is that Georgia ever had the lead. I guess Alabama not completely gagging after that is also pretty unbelievable.

I'm curious to hear topseed's report from the sideline.
