Combine Results/Observations

Kelee Ringo with a really fast 4.36 Official 40, bad 33.5 Vert Jump and small hands and short arms. Not a fan

He is very football fast as well. Same arm length as Witherspoon, who is touted as a top-12 pick, and damn near the same as Cam Smith, another highly-rated CB.

Mazi Smith only participated in the 225 bench press, and of course he was in a league of his own, 34 reps. The only one that got close to him was Roy from LSU with 30

Siaki Ika with the slowest 40 and 10, didnt bench press. Not a good day for him and his stock

I was never much of a fan of his. Did OK against mainly mediocre competition, very small, is not going to be an edge corner. If he tried covering Chase, it would be like a little kid playing basketball with his dad.
he is a bermuda favorite for some reason. Guess he likes smurfs

of course, but Witherspoon is two inches shorter. My point is he doesn't have the long arms as expected of his size, by the way Spoonman didn't participate in any drill.

Right now Gonzalez is my #1 CB after the Combine, 4.38 40, amazing 41 VJ, 11'1" BJ,

By the way Deonte Banks had eye opening numbers

Brents of K-State had a really good showing at the Senior Bowl and is checking every box imaginable in terms of his measurables. 6'3", 198 lbs., 34" arms, ran a 4.53 (or what Xavien Howard ran).

Forbes does not weigh much but dude can cover. Great measurables other than weight and I suspect it's a lot easier to put pounds on than take them off. Lightning-fast 1.48 10-yard split.

Regarding Brents, given his height he has good speed

Forbes is a personal favorite, he just needs a carbs diet with a good trainer

Yeah, I see that. Waiting for Pro-Day. Yipee.

I think a lot of teams agree. Also don't think he falls to 17 but you never know.

The Maryland CB's are both impressing. Why the hell did their defense suck *** last year?

Anytime I think on Maryland DBs Sean Davis comes to mind, bad memory trip there, I think NO ONE in the board liked the pick

LB Pappoe, 6'0" and 225 pounds, 4.39 Official 40 and 2nd best bench press of the group with 29. The kid has the athletic talent, he lacks size though but might be a very good mid round pick in the 4th round

This draft is getting really odd. I don't think Gonzalez or JPJ falls to 17, also cannot see Paris Johnson Jr., Skoronski or Broderick "Thomas" Jones falling to 17.

More and more I see Tomlin & Co. waiting until later - maybe 3rd round - to get a CB. Lotta quality players who are likely going to be there at 80, like Bennett, Garner from LSU, and 2nd round guys (49) like Stevenson from Miami or Rush from South Carolina.

They may be well-advised to use 17 on a G or Edge, and 32 on Schmitz or Campbell, maybe get a WR at 49, and then CB at 80, something like that.

Yeah, I watched a bit of All-22 on him. He gets lost among G and C who get their hands on him, but wow, he can run, read the play and blow it up. He also followed the 'Bama running back up the seam one play and kept with him stride-for-stride.

But damn, better get Mazi or Ika to keep him clean.

ILB Overshown with only 15 bench press reps, that's a no-no for me.

Yikes, Emmanuel Forbes came in at 6'0, 166lbs.....166.......I hope that wasn't playing weight and he super slimmed up for the combine, because man that's slim

To little, hope we don’t bite.

Have WRs ran yet? Did anyone catch Tank Dell………. Or how fast he actually was?

I’m working a lot and can ‘t keep up on the information. I can keep up and pass TANK, provided he is in P for Park.

I have Gonzalez as my best CB. I have Forbes #2. Imo not a great CB crop. I feel Branch really can’t be pigeon holed in at CB or safety because he does both. So that leaves Gonzo and Forbes. Of course Forbes weighed 166lbs which is 15lbs less than he listed in college. Probably drops him to the second but I’d take him at 32 and never look back. Gonzo probably not there at 17 for us now. Likely 10>

Let's add another Heyward as a UDFA. Cam and Connor's cousin, Shaka Heyward, ran a 4.53 40, had a 9'8" broad jump and a 31" vertical. The broad and vertical aren't "outstanding", but they are comparable numbers to Alabama's To'oto'o. To'oto'o ran a 4.62 40, had a 9'8" broad jump and 32" vertical.
Heyward, who also tied with two others for second the fastest 10 yard split by a LB (1.54), is projected by a few of the draft sites to go undrafted out of Duke. I've also seen him rated as a 6th and 7th round prospect.
I love to see my disciples calling out real talent!!! LOL

Joey Porter Jr ran a 4.47. Not a great vert at 35. He looks a little stiff. I have him as a fringe first round player but I might have to drop him to round two.
I still like the kid out of Utah better than JP Jr....

Not for my first round pick because I have a strong feeling that Jordan Addison will be our first pick; but if they do go DB I'd prefer Clark Phillips III.

Didn't like CP3 numbers, 4.51 Official 40, 33 Vertical Jump, the kid is 5090 tall and not fast. He probably fell one round, I had him at mid/late 2nd previously
I love CP3. Speed isn't everything and 4.51 and terrible. He's a ballhawk and can tackle. Plus he's not a kid that has a 'me first' attitude---I've talked to him several times in the past 18 months out here....

You may be right, I really wanted an OT at 17, but don't think the value will be there.

that’s kool with me!

Three players related on same team..
Why stop there..

Then we go lure JJ out of retirement and we will have two sets of three related players!

I'm not a huge Joey Jr. Supporter at 17 but 4.46 is not slow for a cb especially when you're 6 2 with 34 inch arms. If he tracks the ball well the QB really has to throw a dart to avoid getting it knocked away. Didn't see much of him in college but that kind of length can make up a bit of separation.
